Like the title says what do you guys think is the best item to bind for an f2p? since i usually melee i was thinking probably fractite plate

Either the highest level plate or spear you can get. Plate does require more bars, but the spear is easily the most versatile weapon; with monsters having distinct weakness to attack style, it only makes sense.

If you're a mage, and you're F2P, then there's no question... "Bryll Robe Top" ... While you're at it, don't forget to bind runes. B)

if you're a meleer, a good rapier/spear or platebody (try to get a spear first)

Mages a Bryl top, and a binded stack of death runes

For rangers. a dromoleather body with a stack of fractile/kratonite arrows.

 

Keep in mind you can bind a piece of ammo AND equipment, so even if you melee and have a good weapon binded, you can still bind a set of death runes.

I go for the tier 5 bow and arrows personally, I suppose it depends on your levels.

For the equipment:

- Melee: Fractite spear.

- Ranged: Spinebeam longbow.

- Magic: Catalytic/fire staff.

 

For ammo:

- Ranged: 125 fractite arrows. (Preferred)

- Magic: 125 death runes.

 

Binding armor isn't a good idea, as for some bosses, it is highly recommended (Stomp, Lexius Runewright, Rammernaut) or even required (Astea Frostweb) to switch styles.

I have a fractite spear bound to me because of the versatility. But I also know a lot of friends who have a plate bound instead.
