Personaly i think that they are a load of crap, the people who win it are never the best singers and just the person who everyone likes. Ofcource its gonna be like that but the real talent never win it, in the Australian ones anyway. Not once in the last 2 Australian Idols has the winner been better than the person who came second. Last years Australian one was a compleat flop, neither Casey Donovan or Anthony Calea have done anything notable and i doubt it will be any different with this years winner. Looks Ever notice how every person that ever won (except the obese black guy, that was to throw people off) was by definition "hot"? Of course thousands of hyper teenage girls are going to call in and vote for "Bob" because OMG HES SO HOTTTT OMG OMG So yeah......you can't say that the winner was better than any of the other finalists, just more appealing to the public. I think Australian Idol was aiming for Rock this year but failed before the auditions were even over :roll: If they REALLY want to do something usefull in regards to help the music industry, they should work with anyone genre instead of just "sorry you just wont make a good singer" and shunning them. More to music than that the judges and scope of Idol is all about, but no one involved with that show seems to give a toss, just focused on pulling in the money and saturing an already degraded genre with more rubbish.
