Training Agility...!

Featured Replies

I have vowed, nearly since skill capes were released, that I would one day get 99 Agility. The skill isn't really fun to train, but it's not as bad as others, has decent enough rewards, is practically free, and has the best looking cape. It's fairly well respected, too, even though that isn't a huge reason for me to get it. At this moment, I feel like I have enough resolve to get at least into the 90s.

At the moment, I am training Agility to level 80 at Ape Atoll.

Is the best method of training, once I reach level 80, to use pies to boost to 85, and run laps at the advanced course at Gnome Stronghold?

Can I use the Berserker Curse to make the pies last longer?

After I reach 85 with whatever prescribed method, should I do the same for 90 using pies and the advanced Barbarian course?

Are any obstacles at either advanced course fail-able?

Try 81, otherwise it gets frustrating.

You've got the right idea.

Drops: Black Mask.

Clue rewards: Sara Plate, 2 Robins, Some other random stuff.

Thanks! I still have a few more questions though. :-$

Yes, pie/pot whatever to use the Advanced courses.

And Zerker Prayer DOES affect pie boosts.

Remember to switch to agility pots when you have the level to use them instead; they're significantly cheaper than pies.

RS Wiki says it only affects combat stats. Is that an error?

I remember reading on runewiki about the fact that the only failable obstacle is the 85 req one(signpost thingy @Gnome).Pie right before you get there for best effects then when you get 82 use agility potions in the same manner.

@Gnome:

"The only obstacle that can be failed on the advanced course is the signpost run."

@Barbarian:

"Several obstacles on the advanced course may be failed; however, at 93+ agility, all obstacles on the advanced course have a 100% success rate."

They forgot to mention which obstacles so I'd advise either pieing from 90 (to make the pies last longer) or using potions each time agility degrades under 93.

Have fun training.

Having just tried to pie the advanced gnome course, you need to be 85 before climbing the 'advanced tree branch' that leads to the signpost or else the gnome will stop you. It's not that bad still, I think I could get around 3 laps with 2 bites of pie. Haven't tried with beserker yet so might be even better.
