When I say "dream", I mean "daydream"... not actual dreaming. And I only daydream when I have nothing better to do.

Why do you resist? My experiments are only helping humanity push the boundaries of the Art of Toxicology... you should be proud to be one of my victims.

I have shared your opinion for quite awhile.....I don't think that Jagex will ever really scrap Runescape though.....what will probably happen is this:

Jagex introduces updates that either make the game too easy or aren't thought through, thereofore unbalancing it, or something;

in an attempt to correct their mistakes, Jagex introduces more updates that are meant to re-balance the game;

people are not satisfied, so Jagex releases three or four new skills that don't really have any meaning (like the slayer skill, I mean, what exactly was the point?)

People starting quitting becuase the game is boring

Some people hang on, but most are gone

And jagex is a company, the can and will make other games, but that doesnt mean that they will necessarily scrape runescape. Its just not wise to scrape a successful game like runescape and put your company's future on the line with a new game. Even if it was EXTREMELY popular for the first few months, who knows if it will have the long term support Runescape already has.

Think about it this way: An automobile company will continue to add new models, but they will not scrape the older succesful models out of the way...

besides they earn almost all their money through runescape memberships

ive seen their other games and they are useless

if they took out runescape they would have major problems

Ok , something that has been overlooked is that it says they would like to start work on a COMPLETELY NEW game. Meaning NOT RUNESCAPE. No Runescape 3.

They also said that they want to work on character games so it will be a RPG but not in the Runescape universe, and before they branch out away from Java they will release multi-language Runescape clients to broaden their reach.

that is spamming, since you have joined the forum, you have bumped posts that are less than 30 minutes old three times and referred your topic in totally pointless places.....I may not be a mod, but I am asking you to please stop! :shock:

The black space is vanishing...yes? now what would be a better idea than starting a completely new game?

That right... Tutorial Island 2 (aka runescape current) Jagex invents some hard quest that requires you to use all the skills that you can. After which they go to a whole new area which they can't get back from. Once in this new area there is just a small area with 10 villages in and a huge forest, It is then a quest for control. The ten small villages are seperated by the huge forest(anyone not in a village has 2 options, stay hidden and attack passing people, or they can try to take one of the many forestry huts that are dotted about the forest.) This would then mean that the villagers(you) would depend on the other villagers(other players) for items and other such stuff.(when you come to the island your exp is added up then you can give it to the skills that you want to, afterwhich you can only train other skills slowly and it is advised to focus on something that you do alot of anyway) With your village you are then part of whatever group, the group (like a clan) must then defend themselves from other villages and other nature beasts. No banks you have it on or you have it in a chest. The chest is in your home and if it gets broken into that your problem.

Diffrent skills would mean diffrent things. Woodcutting would help you to break in to houses. Carpentry would change the way you thought about defence. Farming would mean the diffrents between life and death. Tamagery is important to get things like horses, sheep, cows all creatures in the forest. Gathering skills like mining would only be do able in the forest or underground.

Imagine the safety of your extra items in the hand of people around the village, the same is true for them. What would you do if you found out who it was? steal their stuff, stop trading with them? or just go out and kill them. Or if you really don't trust people around you packup some of your stuff and leave, moving to a new area. Of course your not completely unprotected in a village, if your village has a fair few fighters they can set they person to patrol and then they will walk back and forth untill they see someone not on the accept list then attack. World changing can also only happen when you are outside a village/tunnel/forestry hut because of the diffrent people on each world it also means that only the people on your homeworld will know who you are.

Fighting is an important part of the game, defence and raiding, guarding your village is important so set to patrol if your good enough. Or if your not and no one in the village is then tame or buy some animals to guard the village. Death will happen often and normaly means a lot of work is lost, you keep the 3 items that you want most(they are highlighted on the right click menu) then you respawn at the closest trading post or pub. For the simple reason that you dont really have a home, it is just where you keep your stuff, it belongs to no one, the thing between them and your house is a lock and what ever you have to defend it.

Perhaps you could find a tunnel down to a bounty of coal rich veins, or maybe a shortcut into another village. Mabye a great new hiding place for goods, but secretly leaving and entering, another village may see what you are doing. Or maybe you need to hide something for a longer time.., collapes the tunnel then dig it out later, be careful or the tunnel will be gone forever.

Most of the area would be pvp, save a few trading posts and pubs. Set down you weapons in your own home and you could be killed, but set down your weapons in a pub and the people around you will just look at you funny...before stealing them. Or suppose you have 3 miners in your town but no woodcutters go to a trading post and barter for some, or pickup a new set of plates because your home was robbed.

*updates would be not of a new quest or of a new minigame, they would be a new tunnel or of a new area inside the forest containing a pub or an abandoned temple, go inside and strip away the resources. Or the opposite, a tunnel collapes on its own or a new tunnel inside your village, maybe a wild herd of beasts deside to attack the village, destruction of a trading post or a lookout post.

Those items that really arn't that important like plates and jugs take on a new light, instead of being able to run about with lumps of food, you are restricted to boxes of food, these are such as a box of meat that you then need to cook, or maybe some bread or mold depending on when you eat them. To regain heath properly you need to have a feast or atleast a meal. To regain your health otherwise will take a long time and after a few days without food you will start losing health.

No more endless running around all day without error, a day is 6 hours light and 6 dark, while the dark is there you are stuck to carrying a torch in your weapon hand unless someone else is there with one, after about an hour the torch will die unless it is renewed by a dose of oil or cloth(in guard mode your character will automaticly eat and relight the torch as they will be inside the village and have easy getting to the supply, although it is an idea to set to people going or you may have a blind sport in your defence). This also means that unless you have a 'device' or potion to help you farming you may discover that it will take significtly longer to grow a small field of potatos.

In short you get rid of the npcs and updates(*) instead its just you, your friends and your foes.

Or of course you can remain in the current area

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

The best option to prevent Rs players from quitting would be removing the lvl 99 cap IMO and introducing dragon mining/smithing + whatever you could think of.

Maybe, but for every member who quits when most of his/her skills are 99 or so, hundreds more become members. Doesn't sound like a problem for JAGeX :)

How many people you think would kill themselves if rs was deleted? No serious Im not joking, I reckon a few would.

If they were going to for some reason close rs, I think they should give everyone full dragon and a whip, and make everywhere wilderness on the last day.

But I mean, If they had to close rs2, I think they'd just start up classic again. Loads of people would quit as they hate the graphics and the fact that it actually takes some time to get decent levels. It'd be really funny to see all these new "ownage" rs2 pkers trying to catch. Lol..

Hey.
