As you know, you can boost a skill +1, if you have that skill cape.

Does it do anything?

I know, if you "Operate" the Strength cape, you get 100 Str.

Basically, it just gives you level 100. This can be useful for gathering skills, and by the looks of your signature, you WC often. In that situation, it'd be useful.

It boosts you (briefly) to level 100.

 

So any skill where gaining a level improves speed/effectiveness it still does that.

So fishing, woodcutting and mining are all boosted by tht lvl 100.

lvl 100 will give u marginally improved farming yields.

Marginally more odds of multiple runes

Marginally faster run restore

Slight combat boost

etc.
