I've been hunting them lately using a fruit bat and fruit fall scrolls with larupia gear (even though I heard it has no effect) and always try to get at least 5-6 squares away and I don't seem to be getting much xp (25-35K per hour).

 

Is there a better method? I hear people getting nearly 1M gp per hour at 99 hunter... does it involve baiting only grenwalls and banking to get more pawaya meat?

 

I hate the skill, but I want 89 hunter to be able to get all effigies...

a) yes use a fruit bat and fruit fall scrolls

B) yes clothing has not effect

c) you shouldn't need to be going 5-6 squares away.

 

are you using the correct spot?

you should use the location southeast of the crystal doors, past the fallen log.

 

you really should be busy all the time.

Yea, use the spot to the east of lord Iowerth.

 

I was able to get around 500 spikes in a little less than a fruit bat pouch. Along with the herbs I got, it was around 700k, and I only banked b/c the herbs took up all the inventory space. So, at higher levels it seems 1m/ hr is completely possible.

 

Also, when I set traps, I set them 3-4 sq's away, but I don't bother standing far away from my traps, so i dunno if that helps. Occasionally though, you will have to go out of your way to set a trap if the grenwall gets too far away.

looks like I'm on my way to get 500 spikes too, while I would get 300-400 at the other spot.

You get roughly 700-750k worth of loot during a fruit bat (the timer is 46 minutes or so), which makes them 1m/hour.I get that at level 78.
