Herb Farming and MTK for cash

Featured Replies

Hey, I've heard MTK and herb farming are good ways to invest to make a bit of cash on the side, just wondering if anyone can give me a little plan of what to do, plant etc each day so I can start doing this. I'm 60 farm btw lol.

for MTK: put 1.5m in, get 100% favor, set it to 100% herbs 50% maples, leave it for a week come back put more cash in, get favor, repeat.

for herb farming: avantoes (avg 31k per patch), spirit weeds (avg 30k per patch), and ranarrs (avg 29k per patch) are currently the best to farm, so farm thoughs, remember supercompost and magic secters, you can do a herb run ~every 90 minutes.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Farming advice looks good but for MTK I'm pretty sure putting the last five workers into fishing is better?

Definitely not true. Herbs are most profitable, so stick 10 workers on that. Maples are only profitable if you get lucky with seeds. If you get hosed, its one of, if not the worst. If you want to take chances, maples would be good, but for consistent cash, fish are better. In summary: 10 workers on herbs, 5 workers on raw fish.

As for herb farming, I would suggest avantoe. The seeds are cheap, give a good profit margin, and are easily sold. Wergs used to be good, but the prices have changed so that it isnt as profitable.

I get it every day since it takes me a few seconds to get there and mine a coal rock. Otherwise, just mine or cut maples before you change out the coffers.

just dont be like me and forget about it totally cause your dungeoneering.

approval is best gained through either mining or wc (wc is more afkable way, mining faster)

10 herbs 5 fish/maples (maples if you feel rele lucky)

the 5 herb patches are, in order of how i do them and the method to get there:

-south of falador patch (use lumbridge ring teleport and go north)

-north of port phasmatys (use ectophial, i think from ghosts ahoy quest and head north-west)

-trollheim patch, i think needs my arm's big adventure quest (trollheim tele, head west)

-north of ardougne patch (either ardy tele and head east then north, or use the cloak if youve done elites, or fishing guild + head east if on lunars)

-catherby patch (either camelot tele and run east, or catherby tele if on lunars)

this sign ">" means greater then, meaning that herbs are greater then maples are greater then coal etc. And herbs are better profit over time, nobody gives a [cabbage] if you get bad seeds once.

currently herbs are 460% return, maples are 371%, coal is 328% and fish is 323%, making fish the worst option.

Well, assuming those values are correct, then I am wrong. Last time I worked out the calculations, using an average profit for seeds over a series of runs (small sample, i know, but it was all i could do), i determined that herbs were best, followed by fish. Apparently that is no longer true.

Raw fish have taken a hit in their prices recently, so they're not as good as they used to be.

Good catch :) I knew I wasn't crazy haha. For the time being, it seems raw fish is not the way to go. When they return to normal, perhaps it will become the second best option once again.
