abyssal demons have worthless magic defence, so just get your prayer bonus as high as possible

Disregard the above set up, Abby demons arn't strong at all with your levels and a unicorn tanking is no problem.

Blessed Spirit Shield

Staff of Light

Infinity boots

Barrows gloves

Mage cape.

but you'll want to use a wolpertinger for mage level bonus (but i guess mono doesnt have that)

oh and scratch the proselyte hauberk, i knew it gave a mage atk decrease, but -30 is a bit much.

just use a monkrobe top instead.

 

still id just use prayer because for beasts of burden, so you can at least carry some magic potions.

that and deflect melee can boost your kill rate minisculy

it's not like prayer will be more expensive than unicorns.

You seem to severely overestimate the combat capability of abyssal demons- they aren't black demons, abyssals are one of the weakest melee monsters for their level. A bunyip will do just fine with max mage equipment, using an arcane stream would be very useful, other things are normal mage gear, ahrims, sol, mages book as you con't afford arcane, don't even need to use mage prayer.

He can't use wolpertinger, so that is irrelevant in the discussion. Magic potions don't take much more space than prayer potions would, and he would be hitting much more accurately while wasting less money with a bunyip. Berserker prayer would be nice to use to prolong the magic potion effect.

first of all, with proper equipment he could last 1 hour on 2-3 prayer potions(4)

second of all, I've actually maged abyssal demons in full ahrims, and unless you plan on bringing a bunch of super def potions, bunyips aren't going to cover it.

Abyssal demons do tend to hit a lot through Ahrim's. They don't hit hard, obviously, but they're accurate. If you have a bunyip, blessed spirit shield, and EE, go without prayer. If not, just use prayer.
