Dungeoneering - Battleaxe vs 2H vs Spear

Featured Replies

Well ever since the release of the rings and the clarification of the berserker effects, I'm sure it has been thrown up to debate plenty of times which weapon is better to bind now in light of the update.

I've read lots of discussions on this topic already and it seems that if you purely ignore accuracy initially, the spear has a higher DPS. It also can be poisoned.

However, it cannot take advantage of any ring bonuses.

The 2H is slower, but has an almost comparable rate of DPS, again if you were to ignore accuracy for the time being. Using the berserker option, the DPS comes much closer.

But of course to this point, we've ignored accuracy, which we've all come to know is incredibly vital in Daemonheim.

Furthermore, there's the battleaxe. It's one-handed allowing tank (even though I think this ability is pretty much useless even at like max), zerk, tactician, has slash and crush, but most importantly is speed 5.

So how can one factor in accuracy? I remember reading past threads about the CLS vs C rapier and how people determined that if X weapon hit Y% of the time, then one would be superior. How does that work exactly.

Finally, would tank ranging in full rune with a sighted maple bow be viable at SoS spiders with only 40 defence?

I have *no* idea how this spider idea would work out. But as of the ring update, the majority of people seem to think 2h is better because you can use it with two ring styles.

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

Well it was clear it benefited more, but I wasn't sure if that was enough to overcome the faster speed + poison (though I was pretty sure poison didn't matter much anyway outside long boss fights)

I definitely prefer the 2h over the spear. However, I've noticed that I'm pretty much useless against any boss that's weak to stab, so having a few spears on a team is good.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

I prefer spear since my Ring is set on Blazer or Blitzer anyways

Longsword.. Since I don't know anyone that can make me a gorgonite 2h/spear. :(

Promethium 2H has a considerable amount of strength bonus, slash and crush bonus over the Prom Battleaxe. I personally have a Prom 2h, and it's what most top tiered Dungeoners use. I'd say stick with the Prom 2H.
