Blacks_123’s Armored Zombies Guide

Hi, I’m blacks_123 and this is my armored zombie guide. Any corrections will be appreciated.

INTRO

[hide]I believe armored zombies is a great way to train combat because you don’t lose any money (you might actually make some)

What monsters?

The monsters you will be fighting will be the level 85 armored zombies. There are two kinds of zombies, a zombie that attacks with range (throwing axe), and one that uses melee. They have 850 lifepoints and rarely hit.

zombies.jpg

Why are they good?

They auto attack and they give great experience (70k/hr xp for me, maybe more for others). Also you can AFK at zombies for 3-4 minutes. (I’m at armored zombies right now as I am writing this guide)

Pros and Cons

Pros

-AFK-able

-70-100k of exp per hour

-easy to kill

-Not too crowded

-Normally the ranarrs itself pays for the food price (if using monkfish)

-Normally 1-2 ranarrs, sometimes 5+ a trip, and picking up essence and planks will bring in profit

Cons

-You need food even if you're praying

-Normally there are 2 people near the ladder making the prayer method unusable unless you bring p-pots

-You must start Defender of Varrock quest

-Not the fastest exp/hr

[/hide]

Requirements/Setup

[hide]Quests

Must:

-Defender of Varrock (to the part where you find the zombie hideout)

Highly recommended:

-Finish Recipe for Disaster (barrows gloves)

-Haunted Mine > Tarn's Lair Mini-Quest for salve amulet(e)

Equipment

TANKING

**For prayer you must have some range protection because of the zombies that use range (they hit often and high for me even when wearing tanking gear)

NOTE: You WILL need food even if you pray because of the range attacks that you cannot protect from[/hide]

GETTING THERE

[hide]

gettingthere.jpg

ROUTE 1 (wilderness volcano, blue): Gear up, Teleport using the Games necklace to teleport to the wilderness volcano. Walk/Run southeast until you get to the chaos temple and pray if you need. Go down the trapdoor behind the alter to get into the zombie hideout with the armored zombies.

ROUTE 2 (21 agility needed) (Varrock, red): Gear up, Teleport to Varrock. Go through the under wall pass northwest of the Grand Exchange. Go into the wilderness and start going northeast to the chaos temple.

Rewards means you will be picking up items while you kill the zombies. I only pick up the ranarrs, oak planks, pure essence, and blue charms

[/hide]

FIGHTING

[hide]

Short and Sweet, Go down stairs and fight the zombies, pray melee if you are praying, and go back up the stairs to pray. The zombies down near the ladder in my opinion can only take 2 players and the further one can take 3 players.

If you are praying I HIGHLY suggest using the zombie's near the ladder for easier access to the alter, If you are tanking then either zombie spot is fine.

Red X- Ladder

Red dots- Zombie’s locations

Blue dot- safe location without zombies

Blue line- Gate

After a few minutes the zombies will become unaggressive. In order to make them aggressive again go to the other zombie spawn (other red dot).

Tips and Tricks

[hide]

-If you die you still have a chance of getting your items back (but we’re all so focused on the games that we won’t die right?)

-This most likely is not the fastest way to train, it probably is pest control but I like it here because of the AFK ability

-Summoning Familiars such as Bunyip help a lot

-You can bring different food such as tuna, lobster but I feel monkfish helps more because of the damage I receive from the range zombies.

-You can pray at the alter next to the ladder but the zombies next to the gate is more of tanking because of the distance just to get to the alter.

-You can increase the amount of xp you get by turning on stat boosting prayers and drinking super strength and super attack potions

Use super/extreme potions and you're likely to get another 30/40 k xp / hr if combined with turmoil/piety.

Overall, i didn't think this needed a guide.

Attack zombie [check]

Afk for 5 minutes [check]

Recharge pray [check]

Attack zombie [check]

etcccc .

/guide.

Besides minigames this is probably the most commonly used spot. Anyways, there are a few things you forgot on your equipment list;

HELMET: Helm of Neitiznot -> Berserker/Warrior helm -> Dragon medium helm -> Rune full helm

NECKLACE: Salve amulet (e) -> Salve amulet*

CAPE: Fire cape -> Skill cape trimmed -> Skill cape -> Obsidian cape -> Legend> SW Cape

WEAPON (strength): Saradomin sword -> Dragon scimitar

WEAPON (attack/defense): Whip -> Saradomin sword

SHIELD: Rune defender -> Dragonfire shield ->Obby Shield >Any

BODY: Bandos chest plate -> Torso > Barrows (not karils or ahrims!!) -> Proselyte hauberk -> Rune plate body

LEGS: Bandos tassets -> Barrows (NOT Karils or Ahrims!!!) -> Proselyte cuisse -> Dragon plate legs -> rune plate legs

GLOVES: -> Gloves (barrows) ->Rune Gloves>Addy Gloves=Combat Brace> >Any

BOOTS: Dragon boots -> Any

RING: Berserker/Warrior Ring -> Explorers ring -> Ring of life

You should keep tank and prayer separate, as they are totally different methods. A bunyip is very good for it's heals.

  • 2 weeks later...

Mmhmmm...definitely an unneeded guide, especially due to the fact that ape atoll temple is a bit better/easier due to not needing range protection. 2/10 on the guide itself, and unlike what it says on the shampoo bottle...rinse, and don't repeat!
