chaotic weapons

Featured Replies

Hello, so i am now 77 dungeoneering and not too far away of getting a chaotic weapon and i started thinking which one should i get. I am most likely getting a chaotic rapier, but i would like to hear some opinions on it.

I mostly do slayer and do some boss hunting from time to time.

If you do any Slayer at all, you will not regret the Rapier, many people regret getting the CLS as their first Chaotic weapon, and the Chaotic Maul is great for a 2nd Chaotic weapon as it's mostly used for fun. The Rapier is nearly equal to the CLS at most bosses such as (solo) Bandos, (solo) Saradomin, and the Rapier is apparently superior at Zamorak and Tormented Demons.

Rapier first, always.

Rapier for anything that has comparatively low defence or is weak to stab. That includes all slayer monsters except waterfiends and all bosses except Graar and Zilyana, where CLS/CM are best, respectively. I'm not sure but I heard something about a 50% damage penalty for chaotic weapons on Corp (in ADDITION to the 50% for non-spear) so I guess all chaotic weapons are no use there.

Rapier works fine at Graar and Zil.

Cmaul is decent for teaming, not recommended for soloing.

I use it to solo Tds, works great there. Since I'm cheap, I don't wanna use a chaotic weapon every task, so I just got mail to use at waterfiends. Maul is also good for pking.
