Crazy computer problems

Featured Replies

I am running Vista Home Premium x64

I have gotten 75,047 errors in 2 hours all the same:

The Telephony service failed to start due to the following error:

The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process.

Microsoft says this means

ERROR_SERVICE_DOES_NOT_EXIST

1060 (0x424) The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

I am not sure how to fix this; did vista randomly uninstall this service? Everything seems to be working fine, though the system did not resume from hibernation correctly.

The first problem is you have Vista. The second sounds like your telephony service is not started. Go to your services area (Window key +R > then type in "services.msc" > Restart/start telephony. Try that.

The first problem is you have Vista.

Why is that? I see no problems in having Vista. Are you saying that because you have Vista on a computer that's from the pre-Vista era?

Pretty sure he's joking.

Manually starting telephony gives the same error; I have set it to start manual but it still attempts to start (and more errors).
