Macbook Pro help!

Hey so I got a Macbook Pro today and when I play runescape it wont let me play on high quality graphics. When I try it says "This setting is not available in your current version of Java. Please update to the latest version." I've already tried updating the Java and it still doesn't work. I also tried to update my graphics card drivers but Nvidia doesnt allow you to on OSX. I also tried using different browsers (Safari and Firefox) and neither work. Please note that this is my first mac so I am not very good with it yet so if you try to help try to explain as clearly as possible :)

Thanks

First, if you haven't already done so, go up the apple in the upper left hand corner and click on "Software Update." If nothing is new, try using Firefox; I find Safari a bit lacking for playing Runescape. If you want to use Safari, you could try putting it in into 32-bit mode. To do this open up the Finder, navigate to Applications, right click on Safari and choose Get Info. The window that opens should have an option to open Safari in 32-bit mode. Now, if you already have Safari open, you'll need to quit it for the changes to take place. Make sure that Safari is the active window and hold down command+Q or mouse up to Safari in the menu bar and choose Quit. Reopen Safari and see if it makes a difference.

I have a Macbook and it works fine, so it's just a software thing. Don't be scared into thinking that OS X doesn't play Runescape. :P

I've played runescape before on my MBP and mines from the summer of 2007 and it loads fine. in addition to Laura's suggestions make sure your java is also enabled in your Safari settings, which is the only other reason I can think of it wouldn't be working..

To get drivers for your graphics card requires you to use the 'Software Update', it's a little strange it isn't working. If your Mac is reasonably new it may be worth taking into an Apple store to see what an actual employee who understands Mac better than I do.

Apple did recently release a 'graphics' update, were you prompted to download this by Software Update?
