I want to speed up my kills in slayer a bit, So I decided to use prayers

How much does piety cost on an average task? Does it really make that much difference or am I better off using superhuman str?

Prayer Bonus on my normal slayer gear is +13

With piety assuming you left it on non-stop you would use 1,374 prayer points each hour, which is ~144k gp/hr. This will be a significant difference.

With superhuman strength assuming you left it on non-stop you would use 826 prayer potions each hour, which is ~86k gp/hr.

 

Id go with piety for all it costs.

Just as a clarification for anyone else looking at this and thinking about the numbers, this is using a prayer bonus of +13 and a prayer level of 70 (24 points per dose of prayer potion).

I can make much more than 144k/hour So I guess I'll piety all the way =) At least on tasks I don't 2/3 hit, lol

Too bad pray pots are unbuyable right now =(

I've tried prayer flicking (turning the prayer on right before you hit, then off right afterwards) with piety on slayer, and it really reduces the cost. If you don't mind paying more attention, it could reduce your prayer use to about 2-3 prayer potions per task.

 

P.S. This was with 82 prayer, I'm not sure how much having 70 prayer will affect it, but I'm sure its much more cost efficient than leaving the prayer on the entire task.
