16k alchs till i can plank make. hoping to do this cheaply but efficiently. What to buy?

- Yew comps; doubt i can buy 16k?

- Mith hatchets; Possibility? do people make these from smithing?

- Gold ammys; Well known that these go alright.

Any better suggestions? Please nothing that has a limit on amount buy-able.

Don't alch, do anything else. Let's see if I can find Zaaps' post on that.

EDIT: this sums it up nicely:

Alching is heinously inefficient. I would avoid alching like the plague.

There are just so many better options out there. You could burst Rock Lobsters after level 70, which is more efficient because it is not only ~30-50% faster, but you also get enough HP and Summoning xp to more than justify the extra cost (for this reason, Rock Lobsters are hands-down the best place to train magic, ALWAYS, unless both HP and Summoning xp is worthless to you). If you are doing the bonus xp weekend, this option is theoretically the best, since you get bonus xp in 3 skills.

You could Plankmake, which is roughly DOUBLE the xp with a similar or lower cost and the same number of clicks per hour (a little more concentration, though).

You could String Jewelry, which is more expensive, but so easy that it's practically the only efficient method of training magic that can truly be "afk"'d.

You have Superheat Item, which far outclasses alching, that you can utilize until you unlock one of the higher options.

You could make Hunter Kits, which function as pretty nice junk if you have a rising that you can sell to compensate.

Conclusion, there is absolutely NO reason to alch unless you can't stand ANY of your better options.
