September 5, 201015 yr Being as you 1 hit iron almost 100% of the time with a rune pick is there any benefit to using a dragon pick to mine iron? Quest Cape Achieved on November 14, 2007Items AcquiredCrystal Pick and HatchetBerzerker Ring x 33/28 Barrows Items
September 5, 201015 yr I was wondering the same thing =S Well, being that as it may, there is always a few iron rocks that want to be stubborn and take a few hits to mine. My guess is that the dragon pick cuts down on scenarios like that. Hexiled Razz. Player since March 8th, 2005.
September 5, 201015 yr well at 61 mining, a d pick makes it so that you might not even hit the rock and you'll get the ore. there wont be an animation, youll stand next to the rock and the ore will be in your inv ~~~The Harpy List~~~Harpy Facts~~~It's Super Effective~~~The Beginning~~~Harpy Therapy Center~~~Alg~~~Jedi Harpy~~~Rohirrim~~~Attenuation~~~
September 5, 201015 yr Author Well now, that's interesting. I never thought of being able to speed it up that much, but I guess if it takes x number of ticks to mine with a rune pick and the increase is about 10% then it could in theory go lower. Unless the increase is on a sliding scale where the faster it occurs the bigger the effect, IE rune pick takes 2 ticks dragon takes one. so 50% increase. September 5, 201015 yr If you have an iron pick use it.If you don't the speed increase isn't worth it JUST to mine iron since 99% of time u mine iron in 1 tick anyway. If you mine gold etc its worth buying it. It's quite funny, my friends and I (before it was released) used to joke about how good the dragon pickwould be, saying that you would probably just look at the rock, and the ore would appear in your inventory.
