We weren't safe yesterday, we're not safe today and we won't be safe tomorrow.

I can live with it.

I want to actually contribute, but this sums it all up for me as a Brit living just outside London.

Uhh, no. Today's terrorism it the most ineffective form of waging a war there could possibly be. Why not bomb the Parliament building than buses? Why not attack military bases around the world than taxi vans. Right now they scare over the population, which they think we've got some sort of political power? Lol, we're as screwed as they are.

Attacking where the the politicians' interests are, then it'll hurt. Their government buildings, their businesses, their banks, their assets, their families, etc.

Terrorism is ineffective? Look at the state of the US now, compared to before the september 11 attacks.

The whole point of terrorism is to terrorize, that's why random attacks are so effective.

See, I carefully said "waging war" to avoid the blunt objective of terrorism. Sure, it's to cause terror, but it's to cause terror to force governments to bend to the terrorist's will. What have they done to get rid of America?

Nothing.
