Pixel WIP, rate and stuff.

I'm liking this piece a lot. The simplicity really works well, even though you 6 colors or so, you still protray a sense of accuracy. That said, the left arm (our right) looks distorted, can't tell if that's aprt of the WIPness, but nevertheless it works messed up. Overall GREAT work.

Thats not simplicity. My sig is simplicity. I may only use four or so colors, but I might as well be using 16, the dithering and placement give me all the colors I need. I'm just playing up on pixelarts ability to trick the mind. :wink: Truly, anymore colors would make it look worse, in my opinion.

Hey, you know your stuff. There is such a thing is over-complexity and that is something to be avoided in all sigs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ahm a big fan of your work GS, this could be one of your best sigs.I know you sometimes have trouble making backgrounds, so i hope the background is just as good as the character.

I don't think so, if you compare the details on this one to most of the others posted here it beats them by alot, even when it's alot smaller and uses far less colours.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Though it may seem simple when you zoom in on it, alot of detail is shown as it is now.

Great effect with few colour, I'm loving it.

mate u've gone into a whole new genre just for ureself, and i reackon that u'd be the only one that could pull it off anyway, so good work. is he dodging something? cause thats kinda wat it looks like lol, leaning back? u need 2 team up with terley, he can do the background lol, but half the cash :? and it wouldn't be ure style, anyways keep up the good work. oh and off topic can anyone tell me why my post count is stuck on 91? i've made at least 10 posts tonight and its not moving....

as much as i can appreciate the skill involved, and its very well done, i still think its appearence is bland and rather unexicitingn and thats not because of your lack of colour, its simply just the way i dislike his pose and armour.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

for one, you wouldnt hold an axe like that if your in a battle situation (which his pose suggests) you would have your hands much nearer the end, to allow you to reach further.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and for teh armour its just bland, the few [bleep]es randomly dotted around do little to make it look impressive.
