How to lower your defense

Was curious if there was any good way of lowering your defense level (or negative equipment bonuses)

Dragon battle axe spec comes into mind, but that lowers your other stats too so it's not ideal.

 

The point of knowing this is that you can exploit deflection prayers with this.

They only deal damage if your enemy would have hit you.

and that only happens when your defense is low.

 

for deflect magic this is somewhat trivial since you can just wear metal armor.

But negative melee defense is a little harder to find.

 

just curious, this would be useful in a few scenarios if it can be implemented with ease.

I believe Zamorak Brews lower defence thats all i can think of. They raise Attack+Strength tho and give a lil prayer also. They also Lower LP.

 

Edit:You could also have someone use curse spells on you or the other varient requiring soul runes.

Don't believe there is any melee defence lowering armour but you can chug zammy brews to lower your defence level.

zamorak brews seem like a viable option.

They're already a cheap form of prayer restoration, since you're praying anyways.

if implemented properly, this could increase kill rates at say, dark beasts, by up to ~3% and up to 1.5% at abyssal demons I'd wager.

For a few days after release, The Fero ring added damage to the deflect curses too, that was fun slaying Dark Beasts and dragons in monk robes (for the low def while still being usefull) + Zammy Brew
