Nifflin
Okay, so I was goofing around and realized that smithing addy arrowtips and then fletching them into addy arrows looks like it should break about even. Can someone check my math? One adamant bar produces 15 arrowtips Adamant Bar = 3080gpHeadless Arrow (x15) = 315gpAdamant Arrow (x15) = 3150gp Would this be less efficient then platebodies and by how much? Edit: If I can get my hands on junk I could sell the arrowtips alone for 250-300 each and profit quite a little from that. Is it worth it? What about trading for risings, is that viable? Edit2: Changed arrow shaft to headless arrows, thanks Jaffy1 PM me in game anytime It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet. That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.
Jaffy1
You will have to add feathers to the arrow shafts to make them headless arrows, which would add another 150 Gp or so for every 15 arrows. Smithing will take a lot longer than with platebodies, but you'll have the resources for fast fletching xp (provided the headless arrows/shafts/feathers buy). It's probably possible to level both skills faster individually, but if you do break even or lose very little money it's a decent method of leveling in my opinion. As far as junk goes, if you happen to have any, you could try and sell it that way, however you could also do so by lending expensive items. I wouldn't go out of the way to create junk, and I'd definetly not buy it though. Nifflin
Exactly, I'm mostly wondering if the fast fletching exp is worth the mediocre, almost free, smithing exp. I usually judge my income at 1000k/h just to be conservative. PM me in game anytime It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet. Jaffy1
To me it would, but that's because I enjoy semi-afk-like methods (as I'm almost always working on something else as well or distracted by clan chat, skype and whatnot). However if you would prefer getting xp (in especially smithing) as fast as possible you may want to consider doing platebodies and bolts or so for fletching. Quyneax
Grimy's spreadsheets list adamant arrowtips at 80k xp/hr with iron plates being cheaper and faster. So, for smithing it's pretty bad :P. However adamant arrows are 360k fletching xp/hr and 900k profit (using 2400*15 =36k tips), so the average becomes 150k smithing and 360k fletching per 3 hours (at 1200 bars & 75k xp per hour, or 18k tips, for nice numbers). You can also do two hours of broad bolts for the same fletching xp then spend the profit (approx. 1.6m) on superheating + smelting. That's about 360k fletching and 130k smithing xp per hour, as well as 65k magic. Nifflin
So does the fast fletching exp make up for the slow smithing exp?
