December 17, 201015 yr AVG is bloody annoying, undiscreet and a gerneal nuisance. I want to rid of it, and I am currently using MSE instead. However, AVG itself will not let me uninstall it, or shut off its processes. I also cannot delete it. What do?
December 17, 201015 yr Tada: http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2009/05/05/comprehensive-list-of-uninstallers-or-removal-tools-for-antivirus-software/ Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <3
December 20, 201015 yr What i usually do if i cant uninstall using the method provided by the program or control panel is hard unistall if you have windows. Heres what you do Go to my computer Go to your hard drive Program files Find what your trying to uninstall. say itunes Go to itunes folder open it Delete everything inside then delete the folder itself. do a quick search for the word itunes on ur computer harddrive delete any of that too. Now go to control panel add and remove hardware find itunes and try to unistall it will tell u there is an error and remove it off the list. now just delete and short cuts or task bar shortcuts and u got rid of your program cheers
December 21, 201015 yr If you cannot uninstall a security softwaredue to a damaged uninstall, it sometimes helps to re-install it, then uninstall. Or try the official AVG removal tool from here - http://www.avg.com/us-en/download-toolsIntended for use if uninstall / repair / uninstall has failed

December 22, 201015 yr Seen stacks of people get infected with AVG, and heard a lot of aggro with the toolbar. 8.0 ??? - Ancient! The positive vibe seems to be on Avast at the moment, though the new Microsoft Security Essentials may be worth a look (no nags to upgrade to pro!) Outpost Security Suite free give you a decent firewall and a VB100 (passed the last few) certified AV.
December 25, 201015 yr Call an Exorcist. On a serious note, usually on the Program developers site they have a removal tool which removes it both software but also the memory of it from the "Registry", as stated the Install -> Un-install method has worked wonder before for a incomplete uninstall or damaged program. Also look into MSE and Avast, personally they're my favorites in free-ware antivirus, or spend $50 and get Kaspersky for two years. Popoto.~<3
