obfuscator
Yeah that's been brought up before. Not sure what the resolution was on it though... "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti

Sy_Accursed
If i recall rightly from the last 5 or so times this came up its a problem at the forum hosts end and they are aware of it and have promised it will be fixed in the next upgrade. But this has been the official line for like a year. obfuscator
There's no way that's a problem at the hosts end lol. I believe we were waiting for next patch for the forum software, not sure if we ever got that or not though. tripsis
That is indeed the case :) We don't know when it will be fixed but it is a problem on their end, one which I believe they said would be fixed soon. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
The Observer
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you able to change the code to activate it? Pretty much just a problem with two emoticon codes conflicting.

Pretty much just a problem with two emoticon codes conflicting. pre-built forum softwares (like what tip.it uses and the much more fully built zetaboards etc) have inbuilt emoticons with set codes. Its only custom emoticons you can change the codes for. Well I'm by no means an expert but isn't IPB a 'basic' php forum structuring and control panel that you self host and can make fairly major alterations too where as services sch as zetaboards provide a prebuilt and hosted forum system that you merely customise basic fields on and alter the skins. IPB is a fully built community services suite, it's not even just forums. You can make modifications to it if you chose to self host as you have the source code, which is a limitation inherent in the combined software and hosting packages ZB provides. The major difference between something like phpbb or IPB and ZB is the hosting - zb is meant for novices and is therefore much less complicated and flexible. You have basically no control over it since ZB is hosting it as well. tripsis
These posts should answer your questions :) Discovered this way back when we first made the switch. I've had it reported as a bug since October and it looks like they're marking it fixed for IPB 3.1.0, but the release date of that is not set yet. http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=tracker&showissue=18951 Read the thread that you linked to, Pure_MageUK... I guess at this point, the question is, would it be better to wait for the upgrade, or would it be better to just stick a workaround in, similar to what I suggested? Call me nuts, but I'm just confused... and curious as to what the reasoning is, whatever you've chosen... :anxious: ~D. V. "Sometimes I'm just too curious..." Devnull We're waiting for the upgrade, that way old posts will not be broken any more. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
