Bots can recognise items by ID number, which means they also click on hides at the other side of a portal (the bad ones anyway). If you have decent cb stats, a super set/extremes, and a really strong weapon like a GS or even a chaotic rapier you can land a few hits here and there on each dragon and steal all the kills. I use just a whip and superset and always get the drops.
