Smithing

Ok so I'm probably going to aim for 99 smithing as my next 99. I'm starting at level 71. I need to know a few things:

 

1: What would be the best thing to smith? I know some people do addy plates but what about before level 88?

 

2: I've also heard people make bolts but which bolts and is it fast xp?

 

3: What about smelting gold? Fast xp? Little to no loss?

 

I'm not too worried about money but if you give me a method could you please give a cost estimate too.

Well you recently have got Juju haven't you? So therefore herb runs will be amazing to help yuou.

 

Anyways what I did was Addy Bolts til I could do tips, then tips til plates, and plates onwards. You then have the option at 98 to dwarven stout up and make rune longs (think it's rune longs that are -7gp/exp which isn't bad).

 

I did stealing creation and went for 5 hammers at a time or however many I could do which gives a nice little break.

 

Gold isn't really fast exp but is good in relation to gp/exp but I couldn't do it :P

 

Also... I spent around about 60-70M in total.... But made it all back through slayer, MTK and herb runs. I wish you luck, 99 smithing is amazing :D

 

Oh and also do effigies when you can! ;)

Alright thanks, just what I needed. Probably just gonna get a few hammers. And ya herb runs are making an average of 350-400k per run with snapdragons using juju pots. Highest I've done so far is 425k.

If you don't care about efficiency - don't look at the last 5 columns (yellow onwards)

 

I would personally recommend smelting gold bars(with gloves) to 88, but if you don't multi-task doing this it will be extremely boring & a waste of time i'd imagine.

You could also superheat them since you are only 95 Magic.

 

You could do adamant arrowtips for slightly higher xp/hr at a higher cost but will need a larger cash pile to frontload more adamant bars at a time than you would gold ore.

 

If you don't mind SC get hammers & save them for when you are 88 for the platebodies.
