The Ancient, i know you're reading this, show us some math Also Okay, another question, when is the optimal time to start using blood spells as opposed to ice spells? Clearly ice hits harder, but blood heals And if you are using normal prayers, and the other person is using soul split, should you switch to blood sooner? Augury is 20% magic attack 25% magic defense So leech vs ancient:At first, augury is better5%/5% vs 10%/15%At end, leech is better10%/10% vs -5%/0% Not much math involved here, it obviously depends on how long the increase/leech effect takes, and I have no good idea of that speed.Off the top of my head I would say augury is better. People disallow ANYTHING they aren't 1000% sure about and don't stake people whose stats/weapons/whatever they aren't sure about. First to 99 Farming on 27. TheAncient Posted February 1, 2011 Share Posted February 1, 2011 to model that situation well you'd need to use markov chains. grimy has a semi-working model on it; i don't (and don't plan on working on one). you should ask grimy to work on his model and then tell you. no one is realistcally gonna have overheads in a proper mage duel. but just for clarity, i'm pretty sure mage pray > ss. also back in the day people used shadow (smoke? i forgot) instead of ice. one is more accurate than the other. I never really had the levels to do it and i'll be the first to admit that. Hence why i'm now trying to gather information on variables i can control. If i can control said variables, i can improve my chances. Clearly an old school mage staker will out do me; but one has to start somewhere, no?I could just go back to melee boxing if i really wanted too, but i want to explore, well, another avenue i guess.
