February 2, 201115 yr The items kept on death is decided by high alchemy value. Because pkers were using climbing boots for just 12gp each for +2 strength, Jagex changed how they worked. Introducing Rock Climbing boots which have the bonus and can be bought for 75k and alch for 45k and Climbing boots which can be bought for 12gp for the quests. 45k alch price is higher than the rune plates I guess.
