Quicktime Error

I have tried so many other dedicated tech forums but I got nothing so I said way not try tip.it :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyway I have been saving Red vs Blue (http://www.redvsblue.com) files on my pc since I'm a huge fan of the show and now that I have a video iPod I wanted to put thoise files on it. The rvb files are in a *.* or any file format. I need to open them in quicktime to convert them to the format needed for the iPod. But whenever I try to open them in quicktime I get an error message that goes a little something like this... "Error -2048: the file is not a movie file" So I renamed one of the files (not all to prevent corruption) to .mov same error. So I then renamed to .mpeg, .m4p, and .mp4 and still the same error.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I have tried one converter program with success, only the quality was horrible.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyway in other words I'm looking for a way to put these files on my iPod without using a converter program unless it is free and the quality isn't downgraded from the orignal.

Renaming files to a different extension will no solve the problem. The file is still original just with a different name. Follow the link posted earlier. Yeah the quality wont be that great but it only needs to fit on a tiny screen

does the video play on Windows media player or Real media?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If windows media player use Videora http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

this program will convert almost FLAWLESSLY!!!! (just don't use the H264 codec since it seems to CRASH the IPOD!!! (if this happens you just loose records of what you have played)
