Staking

Just been scammed out of 73m.

Why?

Jagex's staking system.

Fantastic, you tell me when trades are modified. You even give me an extra warning that prevents me or them accepting quickly after making a change. How about staking? Naww thats unnecessary.

The rules were 100% perfect. I was staring at the screen looking for any changes, nothing at all. He accepted, i continued to look for changed and accepted also. Started the duel, out comes his whip.

There was no time for me to see the change, there was no mentioning of the difference on the second screen. Gf most my bank.

[bleep] Jagex, [bleep] RS. I'm mad bro.

Also, not my fault. Flaw in the game, if you think i'm to blame feel free to die.

He did a trick, where if you accept, change something and accept quick enough you can make it so the "Other player has accepted." never disappears. Also, i accepted literally less than half a second after he did it, there was no window for me to see the change, no way in hell.

That sucks. Personally, I've stayed away from the Duel Arena entirely because of all these bugs. No sense in risking my money when someone can pick it up so easily by cheating. Jagex needs to fix them.

I don't think they should have released it so fast. If there are bugs, hold off on the release until it is safe.

While that is certainly true, there's something else that's important. When free-trade back, there were no REAL mechanics changes to the game (as far as I know, anyway). Yes, you could now stake with no limits, but as far as rules, etc. went, I don't believe anything changed. It was essentially the same thing as before, without limits.

If that's true, then it means these bugs have been there for years and thus have been ignored by Jagex. It's true that many bugs might not have surfaced due to unpopularity, but from my understanding some of these bugs have been exploited ever since Free Trade 1.0. Maybe some of them date back to the Duel Arena's initial release.

While I don't think Jagex ever intended people to be staking as much as people are now, nor expect staking to be as popular as it is today, they really need to iron out these bugs.

it sucks

but here's my advice to deal with the current situation:

let him accept first window first, then check all the options, then accept

also bring full armor and weapon in case they do get something past you

I did do the first thing :( He just got lucky on his switch timing =/

Wait, I thought there was a second screen or something which showed all the rules of the duel o_O

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.
[spoiler=The rest of my sig. You know you wanna see it.]

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

normally I would be saying things like "check then second screen" for things like this...however...the second screen does not say which slots are on or off...which I think should be fixed.

The top right section in the second screen should have a smaller sized version of your equipment settings, just unchangeable at that point, instead of the current "some items will be unequipped at the start of the fight"

Until they do that, just always carry an inventory ready for anything.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss.

you're so dramatic.

OP, i thought most stakers bring all of their gear, runes, etc in their invents no matter what in case things like this happen. that sucks that you got [bleep]ed by a glitch, but shouldn't you have had a whip/armor/runes/specweapon in your invent for this very reason?

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.
