Need TD advice

BBK

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to make the 500m I need for buyables, mostly doing frosts and tds.

I've seen the figure of 50 kills per hour thrown around a lot about tds, well I get a lot less than that, my trip lasts a yak which is just under an hour netting me 20-30 kills.

Anyway heres my setup:

and yak with 25 cavefish 5 p pots. (Usually have a lot of food left over but might aswell fill yak).

I use yak over uni now so I can bank the infernal ashes and other drops. Any advice of what I can change to get closer to the 50 kills per hour?

It's rare that I kill the td before its shield reappears, even though I'm using turmoil/leech range. My gear and prayer switches are fast enough.

I know steel titan would help but I can't use it yet and iron titan gives def xp which I don't want. I've heard people say cls/maul are better than rapier but I'm probably not gonna be dunging til I'm done with buyables. I'm not sure if the speed of dia (e) would be worth the extra cost? I hit pretty well with broads and money is an issue atm (hence why I'm killing them).

So yeah any tips to speed up my kills are appreciated.

Pic for fun :P (and to show the spot I use)

first off, you can't get much above 40 without steel titan

here are other ways to improve kills/h:

overloads

claw specs instead of EE

karils crossbow/hand cannon instead of rune crossbow

if not using steel titan, piety/eagle eye (rigour if you've got it) is better

personally, i wouldn't use yak either - more eating is less killing. banking 40 ashes an hour is only an extra 200k, which is the equivalent of about 2 demon kills

Thanks, I'll have ovls in 1 more claw drop. I can't use karils xbow or cannon or I lose the use of deflector. I guess I'll switch out ee for claws and yak for uni. Not so sure about changing to reg prayers though especially if I'm gonna be claw speccing

I agree with of Bladewings post. One thing I'd like to know is why x bow is considered better then R C bow o_O

Also, you should look into *looks at your setup*

Really? Your using arma plate with void then switching to torso? Really? AND your swapping rings?

Better idea. Don't swap the ring, instead swap out arma plate for void top and the deflector for a d defender.

I'd say reg prayers are definitely worth it. Eagle eye + piety is much better then turmoil + leech range.

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.
[spoiler=The rest of my sig. You know you wanna see it.]

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

the answer to that is to not use deflector. you will need to ditch it when you use claws anyway.

regular prayers are definitely worth it if you don't have steel titan

They're imbued rings, I thought the +8 range/str was worth it. I hit most of the time so I figured str bonus of torso > accuracy bonus of defender (its usually bcp but I lent it out). But I'll try some trips without deflector and with cannon and see if I do any better at dropping them before the shield comes back up. Thanks for the tips

Don't switch 50000 items every prayer swap, you'd be amazed how much that slows you down if you don't do it perfect every single time (and you KNOW you don't). Helm and weapon switch, that's it, with a d defender for darklighting. My preference with one-handed weapons is barrows gloves and deflector- if you have a 2h weapon use full void.

Eagle eye and piety is a lot better. A LOT better. Get rigour if you can.

Re: d claw specs without full void, I don't notice much of a difference if I miss the void bonus. They still hit very well, and increasing DPS for all the other hits is worth losing a bit of damage from claw hits, IMO.
