Serpent Eye
Hiya guys and gals. <3: I would like to submit a suggestion for the Mourning's Ends - Part 2 quest guide. My suggestion is in regards to Step 8: Thorgel in the guide. I suggest that this section be reworded or rearranged, as it caused a lot of trouble and headache for me, and possibly others. Follow the beam west and step through the triple door to view a short cutscene with Thorgel the dwarf. Once here you also receive a "shortcut", a tunnel behind the altar slab leads to the dwarf area in the Underground Pass, which can be used to reach Isafdar. He will give you a list of 50 items to acquire in exchange for a free death talisman, should you not already have one. Once you have a talisman enter the death altar. Inside, use the new crystal that Arianwyn made for you on the altar to charge it. Finally take it back to the black crystal on the third floor. Don't forget you need to rotate your red beam to get back to the stairs. After you have done all of this, return to Arianwyn to receive a crystal trinket that allows access to the temple via the front door. Congratulations, you have completed one of the most complex quests in RuneScape. Basically, you are told (red text) to retrieve 50 items for Thorgel in order to receive a Death talisman. You are then told (green text) "once you have a Death talisman, enter the Death altar." You are also then given a few steps to do after entering the Death altar. This implies that you should LEAVE the Temple in order to go get Thorgel his items. In my case, I teleported to a bank in order to start hauling back the 50 items for Thorgel. However... much to my displeasure (only finding this out AFTER I get BACK to the Temple...) you are told (purple text) that you must ROTATE one of the puzzle mirrors or you will not be able to reenter to speak to Thorgel. Instead, you have to redo the ENTIRE last section of the quest. So basically... you are told to do "Steps A, B, C" and then Step D randomly says "BUT DON'T FORGET TO DO THIS BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE." Here is my suggestion at a rewording/rearrangement: Follow the beam west and step through the triple door to view a short cutscene with Thorgel the dwarf. Once here you also receive a "shortcut", a tunnel behind the altar slab leads to the dwarf area in the Underground Pass, which can be used to reach Isafdar. He will give you a list of 50 items to acquire in exchange for a free death talisman, should you not already have one. Before leaving to acquire the 50 items for Thorgel, you need to rotate your red beam east so that the cyan door is unlocked again. If you do not do this step, you will have to redo the entire final light puzzle. Once you have a talisman enter the death altar. Inside, use the new crystal that Arianwyn made for you on the altar to charge it. Finally take it back to the black crystal on the third floor. After you have done all of this, return to Arianwyn to receive a crystal trinket that allows access to the temple via the front door. Congratulations, you have completed one of the most complex quests in RuneScape. Hope this makes sense... I'm gonna go redo this puzzle and finish the quest now... -.- <3: Serpy
Sy_Accursed
That does seem badly ordered, definitely better the way you suggest. The way you suggest is what I recall writing (roughly) when I original did that guide, I guess its gotten jumbled some how over the years! Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
Serpent Eye
It could also be noted that in place of bring a Death talisman you already own (or bringing Thorgel all of the items) you can also bring an Omni-tiara and equip it in order to enter the altar. Also, here are some pictures if you would like to update the two near the end of the guide. (I left them kind of big in case you [if you use them at all] would like to crop them differently.) Howlin1
I know it's a tip in the tips and tricks section of the guide, but when I did the quest a while back I didn't need to being him any items because I had bought a death talisman. So it wouldn't it be easier to just bring one with you? Jesus Christ, can't you just admit that you're wrong? :rolleyes:Cause I'm not wrong. Serpent Eye
It was easier for me, yes. I just brought my Omni-tiara and opted out of collecting the 50 items for him.
Sy_Accursed
Also worth noting for this: In item lsit Babydragon bones has an un-needed space between Baby and dragonIron Axe needs to be updated to Iron Hatchet Also on the death tally thing to be fair the required itsems at the top of guide says:"Death Talisman or items listed in final stage of guide" Though it should be added to tips and tricks that tiaras/staffs and the omni ones work as well. Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
All_Bogs
Thank you for your contributions! I think I've covered all of it :) Decided to simply list death/omni talisman within the quest text, and further clarify in tips&tricks that tiaras and staves also work.
