Flipping - is it worth it?

Featured Replies

So I recently returned to Runescape, and was wondering what all the hype was about "flipping" I've recently read a guide posted on the Archive of Wisdom and was wondering, could I do it? I was recently hacked, and since then have built up an 11m cash pile over 2 weeks+

I see alot of people "Flipping" barrows, D boots, D legs etc - but is this too risky for me? - being a beginner?

Any help is appreciated, thanks

Well, considering I invested 80m and got 170m out of it, yes, I'd say flipping is worth it if you know what you're doing.

And how long did that take?..

Buying the items took 3 days, selling them took another 3. Estimated values, I'm not really sure anymore.

I would also like some tips on what to flip and for how much. I only have 50m and think I've made around 1m more since Saturday flipping :(

Mm, I was thinking along the lines of d boots/d legs to start off with, but this may be too risky to begin with, but if so, where would I begin? :wall:

Put in an order to buy something for high so you can be sure it'll complete, and write down what it sells to you for. Now put it in to sell low and write that number down. Compare the numbers. Are they relatively close? If so, buy a little below the instant price and do the same for the sell price. The buy price should obviously be below the sell price. Give the items a little while to buy, but if they don't buy within an hour or so (unless you're flipping very high value items like partyhats or higher spirit shields), you probably put it too low.

If the original two prices you get were a significant distance apart, it's a bad item already saturated with flippers, and you'll make very little profit flipping it. Try a different one.

Don't ask people for specific items- part of flipping is spending money on finding good items that very few people are flipping. Asking for an item to flip is like asking for people to destroy their earning method they paid for.
