I need to kill a Mithril Dragon, and get some chewed/mangled bones from them for task diaries. I've never had to kill these things before, and I know nothing about them. I'm looking for an extensive mini-guide to killing these things and getting the bones. Stats are in the sig, and any help would be great.

There are undoubtedly better ways to kill these outside of my knowledge, but from my experience at your level, I would use black dragonhide and try to get as much of a mage protection setup going on as possible, and wear an antifire shield with antifire pots, and a leaf blade sword. Use a stab option, and take a super set in addition to several ppots. And of course food.

 

Pray melee and attack with melee so that you hopefully defend against most of the mage attacks. Try using prayers that will boost your atk and str to test if that helps you out a little.

If you're just looking to finish the task then you'd be better off killing one of the undead warriors that hang around in the cavern. One of them, not sure which but I'll edit it in in a minute drops mangled bones 100% which is great if like I said you just want to finish the task.

 

Edit. Confused barbarians are the ones you want to kill for the 100% mangled bones drop.

I just followed the basic outline in the monster hunting guide here. But if you just need to finish the Fremmenik diary/tasks, just loot some of the bones on the ground around the ancient cavern. Yes it will raise the enraged spirit, but run from the one in the cave, and fight the one you raise when u make the pyre ship. A lot easier then killing lots of mithril dragons hoping for a drop. :thumbsup:
