  1. Ceremonial swords are another good method to use for smithing xp, costing about as much as Adamant plates right now. Ceremonial swords are made at the Artisan's Workshop in Falador. Just for comparison's sake, from grimy's spreadsheets, the current xp/hr for each method: reg smelting gold w/gauntlets: 79k/hr cost: 1.87 gp/xp SH goldbars w/ gauntlets: 104k/hr cost: 4.5 gp/xp SH gold @ LRC: 48k/hr cost: .87 gp/xp addy plates: 215k/hr cost: 7.12 gp/xp Adamant ceremonial sword: 221k/hr cost: 8.6 gp/xp so take yer pick from there, theres a few other options, but they border on the ridiculous, like rune ceremonial swords, at like 60+ gp/xp :o :wall:  :ohnoes:
  2. Hey just wanted to let the community know that i just got one of these emails and they do indeed look *VERY* real. These hackers mean business and make a great deal of money botting and gold mining off our hard worked characters. Stay vigilant and just say no to these scum bags!
  3. W117 is ok if you like spamming over and over and large crowds. The other, better option is using the 'assistclan' FC, just make sure you follow their rules, like only posting every 8 lines and no cursing, etc.
  4. I accidentally wore reg clothes after dying to the boss and had to kill a couple vyrelords in the town. They dropped coins, 15 blood runes, and a different type of corpse. The colors are different and they won't stack in my bank with the others i got from vyrewatch while temple trekking. Maybe they'll give better rewards from burning them now?
  5. Awesome, this calc is amazing    Costs don't look too bad either so thats super sweet \:D/ for now... lets see how the BXP weekend announcement screws with things :wall:
  6. I know i could make Giant Ents, Granite Lobs, and the like, but what is best and easiest to obtain? I have grimy's sheets saved and can look there, and am doin Temple Trek for those elusive Talon Beast charms too. I just don't wanna bank on Ents and have the willow branches be nigh impossible to buy :T
  7. I started doing just the ceremonial swords right when the workshop came out, and I was lv 74 smithing. at the start I used pretty much only coal from mtk each week and got favor and xp pretty quick. While doing the swords you can also repair the pipes, and kill the ancestral spirits for extra favor too. i don't remember exactly how long it took to get the royal cannon doing it casually, but i don't think it was longer then 4 weeks or so of doin 2-3 inventories of swords a week. If you are more dedicated it could go much much faster.
  8. turoth? no they were only killing blue dragons i guess i kept checking the adventure log to see what was up >.< and they got a LOT of effigies but didn't even save them >.< Hey at least it was some free xp since yoou got the account back right? Kinda [cabbage]ty they didn't keep the effigies  grtz on account back i just got mine back days ago cept this guy had lots of stuff for me to sell for 400m lol 5 sets bandos god swords d claws 4 dfs 10 sets of dharok and veracs various other things lol Damn seems you were able to catch the hackers before they could dump their ill-gotten goods, lucky =D>
  9. Well its good you got the account back, i saw everything earlier and it made me go double check my security questions heh. On to ways to make back some cash, try basic resource gathering like mining, wc, if u have an fruit trees planted collect fruit as often as u can. Invest what u can into broad bolts/arrowheads, seaweed, raw bird meat or whatever dailies you can until u get a decent cash pile for eq, herbs, pots and whatever else. PM me in-game if u see me sometime and I'll see what else i can think of then, since its midnight here >_<
  10. I've been tryin to get it off and on for years :wall:  , Its just down to luck really, but grats on getting it quick lol.
  11. You're better off then i was when i started trying Nomad. Use Overload, Turmoil & SS, Black dhide, rune xbow & rubies or crapier (I used xbow and still don't have chaotics so that's touch and go :T) and a kyatt the whole time. Spam the Ambush scroll the whole time as much as u can, and if you're brave enough just tank all the dmg and don't worry about running around hiding, that's what i did and was so much easier not worrying about hiding and misclicks and everything. Using ss and rubies, sometimes the spec will heal you more then hurt u anyway which is awesome ;) Bring 4-5 spec restores and sara brews, ambush scrolls in inv and w/e helm u bring.
  12. I know this isn't one of your options, but doing the ceremonial swords at the artisan's workshop is pretty good xp. Doing it only half-assedly since it came out, buying just a little extra coal and ore here and there, and using my mtk coal, I've gotten from 74-almost 91 smithing since the workshop came out at the end of March. If you have any questions about it reply here or pm me in-game sometime, I'll be glad to help
  13. Personally i would sell everything and get coal and addy ore and do ceremonial swords. Sure you can't afk them, but they are really cheap xp/gp. When i did a rough comparison of buying the addy bars and making into plates, then selling those plates back, the total cost was roughly 67m. Doing the same rough calculations using coal and adamantite ore the total cost was roughly 63m. It all depends on your play style, I don't like having to bank every 2-3 mins or w/e it is so the swords work for me.
  14. I've been using the Artisan's Workshop Ceremonial swords pretty much since it came out, and just got 90 smithing last night. After checking Grimy's sheets, Addy Platebodies are ~9 gp/xp and the addy cere swords are ~10 gp/xp, so really up to you on which you enjoy doing more.
  15. Basically this, when you boost and get the level you want, light logout. Then have a timer on your computer or a watch with seconds, ( I prefer digital) and note the time you log back in. Quickly bank and get potion stuff out and logout again before you lose boost at the minute mark. Some people have been said to do 2 inventories per login, but I didnt take the chance since brown spice is such a pain to collect. I would boost, logout, login bank do 1 inv of pots, back and get next set of ingredients and logout. Rinse repeat until thou run out of ingredients.
  16. I've given this strategy to a few people this week, and it's what i used to beat him. Use whatever your best ranging armor is, rune xbow and ruby bolts. Have a decent distribution of Sara brews and super restores, a bunch of kyatt scrolls in your inventory, as well as in your helmet. Start with the kyatt out, and the left click summon option on special attack. Once you start the fight just stand there, don't try to run around a dodge his attacks or anything, too much of a distraction, and moves you mouse too far from the brews. Spam the kyatt special attack, pray protect/deflect mage and piety or w/e range pray u have, or soul split/turmoil if you have them. Using this strategy i had my best results with Nomad, granted I had to spend 2 months money making to get to 92 prayer for soul split, but that was just to ensure i didnt have to keep trying for that one lucky run. If you have any questions or anything pm me in-game.
  17. What i did was make Sara brews with the toadflax i farmed, and the nests from MTK, along with super strengths and attacks. Then once i could stew a few lvs over i would make spec restores and super antifires. Once i hit 83-4 i started stewing and using the logout trick to make ext atks, then strengths. Then i was 86 and waited for the xp weekend and got to 91 almost 92 doin the logout trick makin the highest ext i could. If you have the patience then stewing and the logout trick are super useful for leveling.

What I did after many, many deaths, was to follow an old thread on here. The poster suggested simply tanking all of his hits with prot/deflect mage on, and have a spirit kyatt from the beginning of the fight, with scrolls in your inventory and helm. Using this strategy gave me the best results ever, getting him down to healing and the berserker stage 4-5 times. Also use ruby bolts (e), as well as any leech curses you have. When I first tried doing him, I had 71 prayer, but motivation to get my quest cape back drove me to farm herbs and other money makers over about 2 months to get 92 pray and soul split. Of course my first try after getting SS I beat him ;)
  19. Just to mix up the training a little bit, I went to the Dorgeh-Kahn cavesusing pies around 77-78. I find the xp and training in general to be a little more bearable there, but to each their own really.
  20. What did you do from my level? Oh sorry, misread somewhere. I'm pretty sure i did random potions here and there, but mostly super attack and strengths, and p pots. As well as super restores, reg antifires, and Saradomin brew's. If you grow your own belladonna and/or poison ivy, then weapon poison++ isn't too bad either.
  21. Dg I don't really know too much about, bossing I'm still learning. But when I went for extremes, I ended up stewing and using the logout trick making a few spec restores, and a bunch of super antifires then ext atk and str, then the xp weekend in March was announced. I then saved all my herbs and continued stewing, just doing the highest pot i could for the most xp during the weekend, going from 86ish-91 in maybe 2.5 hours of playtime O_O
  22. You can also try ceremonial swords at artisan's workshop. They have a decent xp rate, and have a good xp/gp ratio, depending on metal type. I've been smithing there since it came out, not going crazy, just casual and was 74 when I started. If you have a decent amount of money it could be pretty quick.
  23. I have 99 Strength and 92 Attack, training that right now. Do i need higher then 83 Mage/Range to do DKs? I've never done them before, only done KBD (team and solo), KQ (team only), Zam GWD (team), and Bandos (team/solo) I have a decent steady income from Herbs and dailies and was just lookin for larger profits or gettin BCP/Tassets or other items i can use.
  24. sry to double post, but does anyone have any advice at all?
