  1. I haven't done very much boss hunting, just random camping here and there and slayer. Since last summer I've been pretty busy getting 92 herb back in march from the xp weekend, 99 strength, 95 pray etc. Now my question is which bosses or even high-end monsters can I do with melee? I've tried solo Bandos a few times, but could only manage 3-4 kills per run. I can do range if there really isn't another option. Any advice is much appreciated.
  2. Not to jack the thread, but why not use urns? Won't they boost experience? The extra bank runs (seeing as you lose 1 inv per urn and many people start with ~20) may or may not actually decrease exp rates. I don't know because I haven't tested it but I would personally not bother. This, I haven't really used mining urns, just prayer. The loss of inventory space just drags it out.
  3. If you've done the seers tasks then coal trucks is gonna be the best bet till u can do lrc. i tend to use a bob and no urns, and have a cammy tele in your inv for a quick way back once the trucks and your inv are full. They are more or less deserted, not sure if the trucks are too complicated for bots or what O_o
  4. your setup looks pretty good. I tried several different strategies, but the one that gave me the best results is to completely tank his hits. Sounds crazy right? The key is tip just bring a kyatt w/scrolls + more in your helm, and spam familiar spec like crazy. Use ruby bolts, brews, and super restores. You should play around wIth the restore: brew ratio to see how many you need, 5 our so kills on him he was berserk and I had 2 doses left and died >_<. Now the big thing that I did that eventually tipped the scales in my favor was going crazy over 2 ish months to do 71-92 pay and use leeches/soul split. Plenty of people have done with out tho. Typing On phone arm but i'll go more in depth when I get home.

Another option of course is ceremonial swords. I' ve been doing them casually since they came out, using the coal from mtk mostly, and buying some here and there. I was level74 when I started too. It may not be the most efficient way, but wotj the ability to store 8k coal and 4k of each metal ore does cut down on banking.
  6. In my experience with ceremonial swords, getting the "order canceled" message has been completely random. As long as thou make a sword perfect there seems to be some chance of getting aby of the plans you have unlocked. This does require more testing though.
  7. Another option I used was mounting and removing a legends cape/glory/whatever else goes in that spot. When you remove it you get the quest item back and only lose the 3 teaks. I'm not sure on cost or expectancy, but its not a bad idea to try. Edit: grammar and spelling, stupid phone touchscreen >_<
  8. I think most of the best ideas have been covered, and my one thing i would say to do you can't. That would be buy the raw food in small batches, cook it all, sell it, buy more, rinse repeat. Add in a dg or w/e break in between, listen to the radio, watch tv or youtube, or find some internet story site and read and listen to the sound effects for when yer char is done cooking. If you just can't find the drive to finish then sell what u have for raw materials and buy your eq back and do something else for awhile. And as someone who has gone through US Navy boot camp, enjoying and pushing through to a goal you set for yourself, regardless of the benefits is still a decent comparison here, and if you haven't been in any form of boot camp then you *REALLY* shouldn't even *THINK* about commenting about it. :shame:

I've read the bestiary entry about them, but does anyone else have a breakdown of what eq to use and over all strategy for them?
  12. awesome, guess thats gonna have to wait for whenever they fix it :T thanks much
  13. So I've tried boosting my smithing with a dwarven stout (m) to 88, so I can smith the rune bolts. I smithed said bolts, then attached the feathers without leaving the anvil house s of the west bank, and when the box on the top of the screen didn't show up i checked the game messages and saw that there was a "one of your Varrock tasks has been updated' messages there. I have tried 4 more times now and it still hasn't worked   Any thoughts?

I'm not sure what the fastest xp is there, but I've done some of the track repairs, (which suck :wall: ), and swords. I started doin swords at lv 74 smithing right after the workshop came out, and have used coal from mtk, and only bought iron/mith and more coal if i felt like smithing sometime in the middle of the week between mtk collections. While 74-82 in 2ish months is slow to most people, for me 8 smithing lvs in that much time is pretty quick heh. Last night i made 25 mith ingots and smithed them all into the swords in maybe 90 mins or so and got an average of 5k xp each from them. I say if you hate banking to smith that the workshop is a rather fun way to lv smithing up.
  15. I know its not popular or fast, but I did ceremonial swords from 74-81 in the time since the artisan's workshop has been out. I've used primarily used coal from mtk and bought iron and mithril as I neeed them. Another way I inadvertently got xp in many skills was while solo or duo dungeoneering with my wife, it all adds up over time. Again these aren't the fastest, cheapest, or popular methods, but can be less like grinding and actually fun or at least interesting. I know those things are over looked for efficiency lately, but ask yourself, am I playing to have fun on the way to those high levels, or just grinding them out for the sake of having them?
  16. More or less this, farm the best profit herb at the time, do slayer or other monster hunting between farm runs. Plus dailies like broad arrowheads/bolts, seaweed, rune ess, pineapples, bstaves. Doin that from mid-september through the week of thanksgiving last year got me from 71-92 pray, 88ish str to 99 str, and79ish slayer to 86/7. It just depends on how many runs you get per day. Edit: Use Grimy's spreadsheets to see which herb has the highest profit potential, and get a scroll of life from Dungeoniering. The above posters, plus you have to use any slayer master *BUT* Burthorpe.
  18. What I did to get 1.5kiish feathers was: Duel ring to Al Kharid, bank @ shanty, bribe guard, carpet to uzer, run north and thieve away till full, rinse repeat. I used enchanted tiara and desert robes. 5k potions might be going a bit overboard, you'e got 84 Herblore, so you could be stewing to 89 and using the logout/in trick to make ext strength and attacks. Make whatever you think is enough of each
  19. Duly noted for when I go finish wc. Might get a lv or so this weekend...
  20. I doubt sawmill exp will count, b/c it might be considered bonus exp. For wc ivy is the xp king.
  21. You guys pretty much have the right idea, I plan on planting palms and a calquat tonight and check it when I get home. If you have the runescape tool bar, it has the "jagex time" on it, but for friday and saturday at least they should be 5 hours ahead of the eastern us, 4 hours on sunday b/c of day light savings. So the xp should come into effect at 7am for me. Back to the main question, if your timezone matches up right plant trees tonight, check them and replant in morning of you have time, then check again when you get home = uber exp for ~10 mins of actual effort :D Btw I'm posting from my phone so excuse any errors.

The strategy that worked best for me I found here on an old thread last summer, but I'll give you an outline and what I ended up doing. Just tank all his damage and have a kyatt out and left click to special attack. I wore black dhide body and legs, neitz helm, snakeskin boots, barrows gloves, rune cbow, and ruby (e) bolts. Inventory was kyatt scrolls 5-8 super restores, and rest brews. When i first tried I had 72 pray or so and read that leeches/soul split/turmoil helped big time so after 15+ deaths trying to safe spot and other "accepted" strategies, and 5-10 deaths using the tank method (which, by the way got me better results then safe spotting :shame: , actually getting him to heal back to 50% and several berserks, only to have 2-3 doses of brew left and dying :wall: :wall: ) that I said to hell with this, and went crazy herb farming, doing clue scrolls, and dailies to get soul split in roughly 2 months (mid-September to the Tuesday before thanksgiving). Just use the best eq you have and keep at it, or do what I did and think "well getting my Prayer level up is good in the long run anyway" and use it as an excuse to level/money make.
  23. I've had good luck and bad luck, as low as ~90 and a max of maybe ~192(I never wrote it down :wall: :wall: ) and a current noted record of 179. Not to steal the thread but anyone know how the exp is calculated?
  24. Yup right here, it must have been Muggi's post i read. I have done the stew/log trick to make super antifire/ext atk/str already and was thinking about doing it just to make the 1.1k i have saved up of ext atk/str and 800ish ext def pots but not sure if i wanna risk it being bug abuse.
  25. So every time I log in for < 1min it'll add up each time? That is the question in a nutshell. I was posting from my phone earlier, so I had issues, but I *know* lobby doesn't count, i said that before :wall: :wall: . The big thing is, will all the short, less the 1 min logins add up?
