Albosky
erm , what kind of soundcard is it ? manufacturer, model number , etc.... ____
checked over all possibilities... did it just stop working one day? Or did the sound kind of fail randomly and such? It could be the soundcard (most likely I guess) or just your speakers are dying / dead. Anyhow, go: Start > Run dxdiag click the 'sound' tab and do the DirectSound test. If that fails, then grab the Device name and start looking for drivers. It probably wouldn't hurt to check the speakers on another machine and perhaps try out some other speakers in yours in case of a failing jack. weezcake
Find the name as described above, and go to http://www.driverguide.com to download your sound drivers. ____
I don't supose you have any kind of documentation that has the soundcard details? Edit: Actually... try using this: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html Belarc system advisor Or http://www.aida32.hu/aida-download.php?bit=32 Aida32 Personal System Information
weezcake
What kind of laptop do you have? If it's a dell, the Dell website has all the drivers for your laptop. You just have to specify which laptop it is, and it'll show all the latest drivers for your computer. :) ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring. Ady
Main Circuit Board Board: Intel Corporation BIOS: Phoenix Technologies LTD R0061G0 05/02/2003 this? and there isn't a "sound card" section.. so.. Doomster
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181 - I've always used this in preference to Belarc. The most likely sound device is a Realtek ALC650 (Or sis7012, the same thing) - for either of those, go to http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dla ... tware=True
Ady
okay I downloaded the realtek thing and it still doesn't seem to work. I wonder if the speakers on the computer physically died out? But when I plugged a head phone to it, there still isn't any sound. So.. *frustrated* "Y2kadrian" a.k.a.
