December 30, 200520 yr checked over all possibilities... did it just stop working one day? Or did the sound kind of fail randomly and such? It could be the soundcard (most likely I guess) or just your speakers are dying / dead. Anyhow, go: Start > Run dxdiag click the 'sound' tab and do the DirectSound test. If that fails, then grab the Device name and start looking for drivers. It probably wouldn't hurt to check the speakers on another machine and perhaps try out some other speakers in yours in case of a failing jack.
