Quick Construction Question

No. Flatpacks are a lot slower in terms of xp/hr.

Zaaps covered it flatpacks = slow as heck.

Things like oak larders and oak doors (for some as others find the doors tricky) you can be fast enough to run out of planks before even demon butler gets back.

Flatpacks you'll be lucky to make 1 b4 demon butler gets bk.

That's what I thought. I couldn't tell if it was me waiting and being impatient or if it was actually slower.

For oak larders - should I just be using the butler?

for all construction you use the butler.

You take all your planks noted and money.

Then you have the butler un-note and while they r gone you build stuff.

You don't take noted planks nor money with you anymore.

I thought taking mnoey was still gr8er since taking money = pay butler straight up.

money in bank = 1 butler trip time taken with no effect other than paying him.

And the planks thing isn't taking still quicker since use planks > butler = do you wanna repeat order? no extra dialogues or w/e

And none of the items fall to make exactly 26 planks as a round load so its not like having extra slots used is a hindrance.

Right click -> take from bank and then repeat last command is quicker since you don't have to drag your mouse from the inventory to the butler. It's also less annoying when you accidentally send the butler to bank again while he still has planks if all your planks are in your bank anyway. Otherwise you'll then have most of your planks in notes and then like 5 or 6 in the bank.

I thought you still had to do a payment dialog regardless of whether you have cash in your inventory or not.

You do still do a payment dialogue.

But with cash on you: You pay him its done he can do a job.

In bank: He disappears to bank for the usual amount of time to get his payment. (iirc)

Which would obviously make you lose him for a fair amount of time and knock xp rates.

In situations where the butler still holds onto planks as you finish off using the ones you have, you can left-click the butler to take all his planks, then immediately right-click and select "take-from bank" (or something like that) and repeat the last order. Doing so is much quicker than moving your mouse all the way to the inventory and back after taking the remainder of the planks from the butler. Done quick, the butler will be gone a split second after the planks appear in your inventory, and in another split second you can remove what you just built.

This, and I just checked the money thing, and it's the same number of options with cash in the bank or not, and he does not take a banking turn to go get it.

Culda sworn he did a bank trip for the money, my bad.

and doesnt right-click repeat make no difference to un-noting or fetching from bank?

Didn't realise tht option was ther not dun con in an age, but still with it there planks on you wuld work just as fast as planks in bank would it not?

so i guess plank location comes down to personal taste, id personally lke em on me so i know how many i got to go.

Zaaps just posted a very good explanation of why carrying planks with you is stupid, I suggest you read it.

Laura, I'm sorry for my "flame," but when the same guy posts wrong answers 30% of the time he posts in H&A, it gets a little frustrating following him around and making sure he doesn't confuse people who need help.

Zaaps posted about how right click is better than use planks on butler.

I don't see him say anywhere right-click doesn't work just the same to repeat task when planks r on u as it does for bank based planks; afteral is the right click thingy not a context sensitive repeat last command type action, so if planks were on you it would repeat that?

And 30% of my answers aren't wrong, no answer I'm 100% on has been proven wrong. Any time I am proven wrong I gladly admit so, as with the butler here, also if you take the time to read you'll notice after my first post I was QUESTIONING to further my own knowledge, not saying you were wrong or that I was right just saying what I thought was the case, but apparently was not, seeking clarification on the matter.

I agree with Green. Also, your posts are sometimes hard to follow with all the grammatical errors and run-on sentences.

OT: I just leveled construction from 71-75 in 40ish minutes through BNXP weekend. I had all my planks and money in the bank, and used the wieldable hammer. This left me with only a saw in my inventory. I used a butler and timed it right so I would run out of planks whenever he returned with more. When he wants money, just click pay him from bank (You don't even have to "continue" through the following message). Just right click him and select get last order. After a few practice runs, you will get it down and it will go fast.

I always take planks with me. Having two more open spaces really isn't that important when 6 (mahogany table planks) is a factor of 24. I'd try the new method, but I don't want to leave my house when I'm constructing, in the essence of time.

TT rewards: 2 ranger boots, Zamorak page 1 (2x), Guthix page 1, Ancient page 2

You must construct additional oak larders doors... I mean pylons

Barrows: 10. Total value~22.3 mil. Ahrim Robeskirt is currently the item I have received the most.
