Begbie
i was thinking about starting a Mage Pure for pk'ing, initially F2P, maybe go P2P later. thought it might be a fun way to practice combat magic without getting owned on my main! was thinking of going for 59 mage, 45 pray, and 41 def, giving a combat level of 46 according to the tip.it calculator. i've never done any pk'ing and don't know anything about pures so maybe this would be a waste of time? any comments appreciated! cheers! Doomster
41 def - looks more like a mage tank than a mage pure. The "best" F2P mage pures would be the 1 def, runecrafter robe pure (needs 50 runecraft), or 10 def using FoG robes - or the simple wizard robe pure. Another very useful piece (from Dungeoneering) is the Blastbox (though if going members, hang on to the tokens and get the surgebox instead) - very useful in a 1 / 3 / 4 item setup, as it's a single item that contains your runes and valued at high alch 12000 (18000 for surgebox) - at the number of tokens it costs, you'd WANT to protect it, as losing one of these would be even worse than losing a pile of runes. Gilformen
magic-only pking is only effective in f2p at very low levels. range hits faster, so once someones range is high enough to out-damage you, which doesnt take long since the max hit in f2p is around, 16-18? that setup wont be effective. best pures in f2p are hybrids with high range/str and a gravite 2h the switch. 32,606th to 99 magic || 15,388th to 99 dungeoneering || 12,647th to 99 farming14,792nd to 99 range || 24,954th to 99 herblore
