Minimum combat level to begin slayer?

Featured Replies

Hello there, I am new to both RS(well, since classic anyway) and these forums and I have a very simple first question.

I am interested in leveling my slayer skill in conjunction with combat, so is there a minimum combat level I should aim for before I start or does slayer start easy enough that I can jump right in with my current stats?

Atk/Str/Def: 28

Wearing: Full Mithril, Obsidian Cape, Amulet of Strength, Mithril Scim.

Oh, while on the topic of listing my gear I've thought of one more question:

I am currently wearing no boots or gauntlets, does anyone have any suggestions of cheap gear to use in those slots or should I just get the standard mith/addy/rune gauntlets/boots? Thanks to chaos druids I have a little bit of funding so I can afford stuff up to 100k a piece or so but I'm definitely quite poor.

You are able to start right now, but the real benefits don't start till after 85 cb and completing Smoking Kills.

Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.

You could definitely start slaying now. There's no reason why you can't. Get a black mask asap and 85 combat for smoking kills.

i'd start right now, but get a black mask first (so keep camping chaos druids)

and use combat potions (don't bother with supers if you don't have 1m yet..)

as for boots, keep upgrading with your defense level.

gloves, get a regen bracelet (or a combat one if you can't afford the regen bracelet)

this =D>

id also really like the stress using combat potions there cheap and effective i honestly to this day still use combat potions when i train instead of supers. buy them in bulk so you can just keep using them without running out.

also pick up all the charms you come across.

forgot to mention this, so important.

charms are for training summoning (http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Summoning)

it's kind of confusing, or at least i thought so, but pretty much you combine charms (untradable drops) with a second tradable item to make pouchs. these pouches can be activated to summon a familiar for a short period of time which helps by attacking / storing items / boosting stats / other effects. also, each familiar has a special move, which require a special move scroll to use (these stack like runes).
