I havn't been training hunter for ages, and I have no idea what to train on.

How should one get around level 80 from level 50?

(It is also OK to give a link to some popular hunting guide with recommendations)..

Thanks!

Red salamanders from the point you unlock them to level 70 or slightly beyond, then common jadinkos. Grey chins before that?

I recommend getting another summoning level for an arctic bear. It invisibly boosts your hunter level by 7 which really boosts your catch rate.

This, red salamanders get you upwards of 70k exp an hour.

However, when I went to common jadinkos at level 70-71 - they were really REALLY slow.

It was kind of like trying to catch red chins the very first level you unlocked them.

I would probably recommend you training summoning to at least 75 before you head to HH.

Unless you get the artic bear - at which case I'd still level it to 73 before you head to HH.

Thanks a lot.. I will wait till ~90 slayer and ~80 summoning for hunter then! :-)

(might get 51 for ancient curses)

it's totally doable now - just a little more annoying to train.

it also unlocks farming juju's which are always a great way to make money

At 50 you can net trap penguins if you've done hunt for red raktuber or whatever the hell its called. These are better than red sallys for exp and can be hunted earlier. Lacking an arctic bear use one of your larupia/ghraak familiars (+5 boost). These can be hunted until 70 where the only place you should hunt is herblore habitat. If you get bored of them switch to red sallys (59 hunter).
