Hey, just recently I decided to download paint.net and I was messing around earlier. I enjoyed it and kept going, and I'd like to call this my first real piece. (Note: Its a wallpaper, so large pic.)

Rate it and leave me some C/C if you will :)

Also, feel free to use it if you'd like :D

EDIT: I just made this out of boredom, first try at a sig. If anyone wants it just tell me. I can add text and any subtext.

There a bit basic, but that doesn't matter, your new so the important thing is that you are trying. I'd suggest that you keep reading up tutorials on the PDN forums, and creating pieces, and once you feel confident enough, using the techniques learnt from the tutorials just go nuts on the canvas. I haven't used PDN in a while so I have no idea what it's like but I can help you with it if need be.

Pretty sure I've wrote some tuts for PDN sigs and got some others as well. Also, don't think just because a tutorial is for GIMP or PS, that you can't use it. You certainly can.

http://ouchy-s.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=24#/d1v50y6 - Kinda average lookimg but it teaches you some good stuff.

http://ouchy-s.deviantart.com/favourites/?catpath=/#/dw1qyo - Done in PS but can easily be done in PDN

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

Thanks again

Honestly, not too proud of this one. Turned out nothing like I planned. I used your first tut for this one, ouchy. I'll do another with the second tut later on. C/C helps, and if anyone wants this I'd be more than happy to put your name in it.

Its a 69 Camaro. I didnt think the first tut method would work good with it, but damn, it looks pretty sexy.

I actually really like that last one. Best advice I can give is trying to blend the render more into the tag.

I tried to, but I'm new to paint.net and I have no idea how to blend. hahaha.

Also, btw if you'd like to use it I can remove anything and put your name on it?

Actually I'm going to keep my signature the way it is for now. Will inspire me to do more Photoshop work.

And I use Photoshop which is a lot easier for blending. So yeah, don't know much about how to do it in Paint.Net. :P Could try an eraser around the edges with 50% opacity (slight, like removing the lines around the render) and also smudging it a tiny bit with 50% opacity, sharpening it. (Some examples of effects you can do) Whatever will look good.

I'll try that on my next work. Doing one with Sam & Dean from the TV Series Supernatural :P

I quite like that last tag. You're definitely improving and this is great to see. Only thing I dislike on it is the text...

Assuming it hasn't changed, if you want to rub out something slightly ie blend, then set the opacity of a colour to something really small (try 1-10/255, can't remember what works best) and then erase it.

I can post some of the .PDN of my old tags if you'd like to have a look at them Hugger.

Thanks ALOT, positive C/C does a whole lot for me. You guys don't understand how much it means.

and it's alright, I tried blending on that tag and it was a pain trying to see through all the layers. On my next one I'll deffo try it though.

Someone leave me a stock or something and see what I can turn it into :D

You want negative but constructive C/C? Well, I am the master in it. But since HYTchat is awesum, I am not going to get your mood down so early. Nice progress, but you defo need to learn a bit more about blending. Blurring even is quite good for it at some times. Text is quite bad but I don't know too many people that can nail it. Nice to see that you have learnt about focal point, maybe about flow and the rule of thirds.

t3aGt.png

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

You can definitely see improvement over these. You need to focus on getting a seamless, blended look with the tag, using c4ds, effects, smudging and blurring can all help. Try to get some flow, leading the eyes to the focal point, through effects again. Your act is really coming together. Steer clear of things like heavy filter use also, they tend to look not so great.

Look forward to seeing more

Thanks for the C/C guys :)

I have no idea how to blend in PDN. I've looked up tutorials, videos everything. I can't seem to get the whole blending technique down and its kicking my butt.

Don't stress out about. It took me a while to get the hang of it too when I first tried blending. The last thing we want you to do is rage quit making tags.

I'm going to go through the .PDN of my old tags and see what I did, because I can only vaguely remember how I used to do it.

Also, what plugins are you using with PDN?
