Random white screen of death

More and more lately, I am getting a WSOD when playing runescape. My entire screen just goes white, with no error message or anything on the page.

 

For some reason, it's happening mostly at ZMI on W70 when I go there, and in particular on the run back up to go down the ladder.

 

It just seems odd that this is happening consistently at one spot in the game... It's very frustrating and I don't know what can be causing it.

 

Any help or ideas to fix the problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Might be due to you having too many programs on at the same time. Atleast my computer always warns me when it's under hard "stress". E.g. you have like RS client, winamp, messenger, skype, irc and steam opened at the same time and you're up(/down)loading something. I don't know the correct reason tho. Try changing the graphic settings? :S

I've had the same problem at the Miscellenia kingdom throne room. I'd whitescreen right as I opened the door to get in the room with advisor Grihm. I have no idea what causes it though.

The issue is with Java where it fails/messes up trying to "repaint" the screen. Sometimes it happens for no reason, sometimes from being lagged, sometimes from having your screen loaded (going down a ladder, teleporting, etc.), and sometimes it happens when you close a different tab/window.

 

So far the only solution people have is minimizing and returning, sometimes multiple times. I do this when I get the black screen and it works for me. If you have W7 you can force minimize by clicking the very right bar on your taskbar (Aero peek) assuming you have set it to click shows desktop. Other than that, Jamflex seems to be doing nothing about it.

Ive gotten it too at LRC w84 and w77. The game does not come back after minimize and returning to it for me. I have to close it and log back in and I am running Windows7 64-bit, so as Nomrombom said: Java's fault.
