June 27, 201115 yr I haven't been logged on to Runescape for a while due to being busy in real life, however I want to pick it up again in the future. Now I get this mail: As I didn't log in recently I didn't trust it so I did not follow the link but just went through www.runescape.com, logged in, everything was fine, password still working, pin still working, only messages about crap in my inbox. However, when I afterwards wanted to follow the link in the mail my pc warned me for a phishing site. The address however is [email protected], and when I copy the link it's http://[LikelyScam].login.ologin.in/*m=weblogin/loginform.html?mod=www&ssl=0&dest Placed a * in it because I don't want people to accidently follow it. So in short, it looks pretty legit but I'm still doubting whether it's true, especially as I haven't logged on in a while and I'd never sell my account. Click here to see my bank, skills and qp.
June 27, 201115 yr This is a scam e-mail. I would recommend that you read Jagex's newpost about scam e-mails: http://services.runescape.com/m=news/jagex-emails--how-to-know-its-safe- Jagex will only send you e-mails for the RuneScape Newsletter (and other promotional stuff) or if you attempt to recover your account (using the "from e-mail" option). They'll NEVER e-mail you to "confirm you are the original owner," or to inform you of offenses on your account, etc. People can trick the header into saying [email protected] - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
June 27, 201115 yr Scan your computer just in case. Never click on links "jagex" sends to your emails. Message like this would have been sent to your ingame inbox.

June 27, 201115 yr Getting smarter every day?Email's like this have been used as scams pretty much since day 1 of rs; only thing is they are more prolific since jagex started taking email addresses as gullible fools are more likely to go oh it must be real. Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
June 27, 201115 yr It's better to get the news from the Runescape website rather than through email, so as a general rule I don't click links in my email.
June 27, 201115 yr "If you wish not to get you account suspended..."They always have such bad grammar. Jagex never sends emails.
