Second Chaotic?

I was wondering what I should get for my second chaotic. I got rapier as my first. I would only be using it for slayer and the occasional TD trip. Other that dging, these are the only things that really interest me.

 

Option 1: Get maul for a few select tasks, like waterfiends which i have gotten almost every other task over the last few days, and TDs.

 

Option 2: Get ccb, since I am going to start range slaying after I hit 99 defense.

 

Option 3: Get rigour and just use rune cbow for ranging.

 

Basically, I'm just not sure how much better ccb is vs rune for slaying and such.

If someone thinks I should go some other route, that would work too.

I think you should get the crossbow because it's good for Arma and Nex if you every plan on it. You should also get Rigour with the CCB.

My opinion is maul or rigour. I say this because ccbow has +20 accuracy on the rune c bow, but not much else. Add that onto the fact that most slayer monsters have relatively low defense then I think you should definitly go for rigour first.

 

As for which to get first, depends if you want to start range slaying right now, and if you plan to do a lot of dungeoneering. I'd personally say the maul, just because it's lots of fun and very good at TDs from my experience.

I've got to go with maul personally it's a really nice weapon for mucking around with and is also good at TDs which you say you are interested in. While there are many viable alternatives for TDs for a range weapon compared to the CCB and for range slaying the RCB will probably suffice. People will recommend CCB and Rigour for Nex and this is valid advice but you won't be Nexing until you are 96 summoning which may be far or close depending on how many charms you get. Anyway as you say you enjoy DG I'm sure you won't mind going back to get the crossbow and rigour.

This is kind of the way I was leaning. I won't be Nexing for quite a while, if ever, since I don't have money for prayer or herblore, and I don't have charms for 96 summoning. Also, I will be getting all of them sooner or later, I was just wondering which was the best choice for my second.

Rigour would help most for ranged slaying. Maul for that select waterfiend task is not worth it (and it's not that much better). With pray pots so cheap, always rigour while range slaying.

Go with the CCB, so much nicer then rune.
