So I recently came back from a two year hiatus and I have a question about some of the new terms and stuff around:

 

• What is a Dice Clan or whatever they're called. I've seen the word around a few times but haven't figured out what they are...
  
• What is PvM? Player versus Merching?
  
• How useful is free trade now compared to the GE?
  

Dice clans are glorified scammers.

PvM is a ridiculous corruption of PvE, player vs environment.

Free trade mosty shuts down price manipulation clans.

Aw, so RS lost the manipulators but got scamming clans, interesting o.O

 

And what is the M supposed to stand for in PvM? Or does it even have a true meaning?

Dice games are not scamming. Its gambling, and like all gambling the house will always win iin the long run.

 

PvM just stand for players vs monsters. Its what PvE is for WoW.

 

GE is more useful now with free trade. For those of us who never trade players GE makes it so we never have the risk of getting scammed and can always get the accurate prices for the items we want to buy.

There are some legit dicing clans as in they will pay out if you win however it is still scamming in a way as the odds are heavily in the host favour. They use dice bought in al-kharid and will pay out double if the percentile one rolls in a set series of numbers usually 55-100.

PvM = Player vs Monster and is generally used to refer to players versus bosses rather than rats or goblins.

Stuffs price is still set by the G.E and most of the trading goes on through there so old school merchanting has not returned but yeh like Happy said price manipulation has gone and junk trading. Also rares have shot up in price with red party hats surpassing max cash in cost last week.
