Path of Glouphrie

Featured Replies

At The Path of Glouphrie (http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2quest_id=179)

Above step 21 there is this: "Items Suggested: Armour, weapon, food, a prayer potion"

Which isn't at the suggested items at the top of the page.

Also it doesn't mention at step 3 that you need a key (which is in the boxes at the east of the cave) to get through the door. And there is some talking about changing your saw to chimes a lot of times, I think it could be written easier but I am not sure how to myself.

I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. Thanks!

How could the chime step be made clearer I do not see.

It says go to the crystal bowl - very simple

Revert you're saw to seed form - there's an option for it on the bowl so very simple.

Then use the sing option - again very simple.

There isn't really anyway to make it simpler as it just lists the 3 steps in order in the most concise and direct way possible.

The key may be a good point, though I never recall needing a key down there myself, but been a while!

You are right about that being very simple, but I didn't mean that part, I ment that the same is explained further (instead of just pointing back to the guide a whole section is made for it) in the quest and also in the tip section, furthermore it would be confusing for anyone to see crystal saw in the required item parts when they have already have changed it into chimes.

So maybe it is best to remove the duplicades point back the step earlier in the quest to warn people that forgot it and delete crystal saw in the required items list after the part where they already have changed it into chimes (also make sure that everywhere where there is "saw" it should also say "seed".) And maybe even remove it from tips because it is already in the guide and pretty obvious for people going there.

I didn't recall needing a key either but I did need it when doing the quest today, maybe I didn't do a quest yet on my new account that I did on my old account that would make the key part not needed.

Oh you mean:

Spiritual Healing

Items Required: Crystal saw, crossbow, mithril grapple

Items Suggested: None

17. If you didn't already convert your saw to chimes, return to the dungeon in the Tree Gnome Village. If you already have the chimes, skip the next 2 steps and ring the chime at the ill spirit tree.

18. Head into the monolith room and follow the same steps to get to the Crystal bowl.

19. Revert your crystal saw to a small crystal seed, then use the sing-glass option on the bowl. Your crystal seed will now be crystal chimes.

20. Return to the ill spirit tree and ring the crystal chime. He will be restored to health and permits you access to the swamp. If you are not already armed for the final battle, you may wish to use the spirit tree to travel to a bank, such as the Gnome Stronghold or the Grand Exchange.

That bit?

Cause I'd agree other than the last step it is utterly pointless, given that the guide already told you to convert to chimes and it is also pointless in tips and tricks as it features in the main quest guide.

Also the key part: I partly think you may be right; but to my knowledge Golrie only features in the Waterfall Quest and that is a pre-requisite for this quest =S

But based on other websites etc post-waterfall quest he shouldn't be locked in.

Rather confusing! lol

Yes that bit, sorry for the confusion :)

Maybe you need to free him always? Or it could be because I did not yet do roving elves (which requires the pebble from him), or just because I dropped the pebble after the waterfall quest (he asked me if I wanted a new one). I can't check it right now but I will when I can (or someone else may do that for me :) ).

Hey guys, sorry for the delayed response.

I've reworded the quest guide's multiple references to the chime to make it simpler and less redundant as was pointed out. I've also received confirmation that you do need the key to properly speak with Golrie, and the guide has been edited accordingly. Thanks so much for posting and confirming! You've both been credited.
