plz read down i thougth it would be cool to be able to make trimmed armor but thanks to ppl who replied made me realize how stupid it would be. but it makes me wonder should there be more types of trimmed amor?

I'll put down some reasons after I finish eating.

Well, considering that Trimmed Armour are meant to be treasure trail items, and that allowing people to trim armour simply makes them worth less (not worthless, but less), and that trimmed armour has no bonuses and lowering their worth is like blemishing antiques, I would sasy no.

If Jagex even considered putting this into the game my head would explode :shock: Not only would this eliminate the idea of treasure trails (Who plays them for fun, I mean we all do it for the rewards) but it would make the costs of trim go way down. The whole point of treasure trails is to obtain items that you CANNOT make. Your mostly likely some other player straight out of Lumbridge wanting ten minutes of fame while making money. And by the way, NEVER and I repeat NEVER put plz read in the topic. And, who the heck plays treasure trails for fun?!?! Maybe youve never done one but they're hard. For that hard work you get rare items! NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER TRY POST SOMETHING SO SAD EVER AGAIN!

ok ty for ur replys and yes the extra post was on accident and u guys helped me realize how stupid this idea would be but how about some new trimmed armor like trimmed steel or mith? i mean y does blk armor get to have trims and mith doesnt it dosent seem rite to me. and i think it would be cool to have more different trims so no1 will look the same i mean ive seen alot of ppl with the same trimmed armor and it seems like evry1 wants to look the same but thats just my way of thinking but wateva

I have the answer. MITH WOULD LOOK TERRIBLE WITH TRIM. Gold With A Deep Purple? Itd Look Like Garbage. Mith with Normal Trim? Still Look Like Garbage. Answer Your Question?

as for trimmed steel, i guess it technically DOES exist, just go south of lumbridge to the caravan near the swamps (the monk, ranger, mage, and warrior). the Warrio wears what appears to be trimmed steel.

should there even be blk trimmed armor? i mean if have some money and i have a good defence lvl y would i bother to buy blk trimmed? and sometimes i see lvl 14 wearing blk (g) and blk (t). but thats just to show off. but if i was going to show off id rather show off on my main with real armor blk armor in my opinion is more money than it really should be

The God Letters: one of the gods (I forgot which) states the Black Armour are decorative armour, so they cannot be smithed. This is also why they can be trimmed: they are meant to be decorative.

I don't think there should be an ability of making trimmed armors yourself. But I certainly feel there should come some extra trimmed armors. For example: I have saradomin armor as F2P. It's the most expensive armor in the game for non-members. Sara was my goal, then I bought the blue mask, but now I don't have a goal anymore to spend my cash on. If there would be a new armor like sara (other color off course) but double of the price two things would happen: F2P-players would become motivated again to get that armor +the inflation problem would become smaller, since more cash gets spent.

Instead of New Trim Armor get New god armor (not that crap that is Runite with white, red, and Green Trim) i mean look there gods why cant they have their own amor not some rune armor passed off as being god armor

I know that in some civilizations, when decorative armor was made, many artisans created unique personal designs to show their work. I was thinking the same could be applied to "trimmed" armor; create 3-4 new "legendary" crafters in a quest, and from it create treasure trails armor with their designs on it. It would add a little more artistic culture into the game of runescape, especially if the quest showed depictions how how the art of runescape evolved as time passed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, another Idea is to create armor based on the royal families of Runescape, with their insignia on the breastplate, and the family color as the trim.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In addition, perhaps trimmed items could be extended to decorative swords of comparable power to the three trimmed armor metals; black, adamant, and rune. They would be of a different shape than the Decorative swords and Bluerite swords, and thus allow for a distinction amongs castle wars rewards and treasure trails rewards.
