Is Barraging Rock Lobs the best method for me in particular?

I am currently 94 Summoning and have been collecting charms through Slayer. As I near 99 Slayer (currently 98), I would like to finish off 99 Summoning. I've already dumped the charms I had on BXPW for 94 Summoning and should have enough charms for 95 Summoning when I reach 99 Slayer.

So I'm looking ahead to plan out a method for 99 Summoning and I think barraging rock lobster may still be the best method in my particular situation. Yes I know other methods such as Waterfiends or Black Demons maybe better, but I assume it would only be better for those who melee but considering I'm a low attack and strength level and ranging is not as effective, these methods may not be best for me.

So basically I'm asking, should I stick with barraging rock lobster or is there another method I haven't mentioned?

Also, how many crimsons should I expect every 1k barrage WITHOUT Sol or Battle Robes?

I've heard barraging rock lobsters is roughly 250-300 crimson charms an hour with maxed mage. You can cast barrage 1200 in 1 hour if you're constantly attacking, but counting lures its probably about 1000 casts an hour, so theres that answer :P

I don't have personal experience barraging so don't take any of the above for fact.

To get anywhere near that many crimsons at waterfiends you have to use a steel titan, which is pretty pointless as you already have 99 summoning if you can summon a steel titan :P

Your melees are low, on purpose of course, but that means you won't do well at black demons or waterfiends. Cave crawlers are great for you though, as you have high stats but still need to max agility/mining/summoning, so you could consider those if you have lots of money. If you don't, barraging is great. Expect around 500- casts (runes) per hour and around 200-240 crims/hr.

Hmm, Cave Crawlers is a method I overlooked. Their Charm drop percentage is pretty low (according to RS Wiki) so assume you are suggesting using the dragonkin lamps on summoning while opening the effigies via mining/agility/summoning?

Opening effigies with summoning, mining, agility while lamping agility (mining is kinda low xp/lamp, summoning not quite so slow as agility). The charm rate isn't amazing but you kill a lot of crawlers so it ends up being decent charms/hr after all.

Makes perfect sense to me thanks, don't think I could afford it though with it being quite expensive compared to barraging--even though crawlers focuses on other skills compared to barraging.

Do you happen to have any rates so that I can calculate it's possible price compared to barraging, if not i'll try to do my own research on it ;)

I've heard estimates of it being about 1 effigy per hour, and spend about 1.5m-2m per effigy. So I know that's with melee and such so would a proper adjustment estimate be about .8 effigies per hour spending about 2.2m per hour using range + extreme range + rigour + iron titan?

1 effigy per hour is with a steel titan, with an iron the titan will be attacking crawlers around the cannon more (reducing cannon dps just a little) or walking around to attack, and of course it has lower dps to start with, so count on just under an effigy per hour. Melee vs range doesn't matter terribly much (comparable to iron vs steel) provided you use proper gear e.g. handcannon, Armadyl + slayer helmet with scrolls. Overall I think .8-.9 effigies per hour should definitely be possible at a cost of about 1.5m.
