First page updated for new goal. Going to tackle my runecrafting goal for opening effigies myself, aswell as finishing elite diaries. Other reason for runecrafting is that it can yield decent profit. I bought myself a green h'ween mask to start with. And plan to runecraft atleast one another rare. Or if not another rare, atleast my bank back (I sold almost everything I got to buy the mask).

Heres where I am starting from.

week0.png

Experience: 1,857,923 (+ 0 xp)

Main reason to make such a simple goal is that I've not been playing much recently, and haven't got idea what to do while on RS. I tried some runecrafting and found out that it isn't as bad as people make it often sound. I know I'm not very efficient concerning my max cape goal, but I'm going to give it another approach. Runecrafting some runes every now and then when I got free time sounds better than not playing at all on my free time. My first 99, smithing, was after 2 months of sticking to a goal, and it really paid off. I'm going to see if I can keep it up with this goal aswell.

I need alot of positive feedback to keep me going, so it's all appreciated. I shall update my bank every monday, so you can see how I'm doing in terms of wealth!

Wish me luck!!!

ps. this picture counts for the first monday (tomorrow), so next update shall be at 19th!

  • Hey all! I've decided to resurrect this blog, since our PVM challenge got sort of cancelled (with Rohanlord). So from now on I shall be updating this blog again every now and then. Currently I'm Nexin

  • Daily nex?

  • After playing out a bit with the good old combat calculator in Tip.it page, I realised that one of my biggest goals ever since I started playing RSC is not that far. Highest possible combat level. 138

You got a rare? Godammit I'm jealous now

I noticed that my motivation to play RuneScape is not like it used to be few months back. Thereforth I'm going to scratch that previous goal of runecrafting, as I simply don't have time and will to do it like that. I managed to craft like 20k death runes to realise it was not going to be worth it.

So, here I am, all skills +80, figuring what to do. I think I'm going to take one level at a time towards higher levels. Haven't played pretty much at all in last month, but felt like playing every now and then again. :)

u5zhkTY.gif

I also haven't played much at all in the last two months, and it is due in large part to not really having a plan. 'Meandering' through Runescape is fun, but it is more difficult to make time to play, and prioritize my playing time, without specific goals.

I have enjoyed reading your blog, and reading your comments on mine, so hope to still 'see' you playing and writing about it.

I agree with that, however I also think that trying to make too strict goals can shoo you away from the game aswell. I think the best way to have most fun with the game is to have some sort of main goal/direction where to head, without really stressing about the speed of it. For example, now that I got back and decided to give up with my all-the-way-runecrafting goal, I've gotten 4 levels in a day. Considering I got my latest levels almost month ago, not that bad. :)

Hardest part is always getting on and starting to do things. Usually when I get on doing something, I find it harder to stop and do something else. Then again, the very next day things can be totally opposite.

I will stay around like I have the last 10 years. I've grown with RuneScape, and it always has a special place amongst the games I play. It's completely different than anything else I've ever played. Even though I often don't feel like playing for month(s), I eventually still always log back in to see what's new. That's the good part of games that "never end" and always keep updating.

Will keep writing on your blog too as I find your aspect towards playing a fair bit more interesting than compared the usual "max or gtfo" -attitude. Nothing bad with that, there just already is dozen blogs like that to read. It's always nice to see different views and different goals too. :)

Hey all,

Just wanted to remind everyone that even though my blog entries are becoming rather rare again, I'm still around and working towards the goals I set long ago. I just don't have much time to play, and when I do, I usually just spend it in game - without really spending time on writing about it. You know, when you don't scape, you don't have much to write about.

Anyways, some things have happened though. First of all I got my 4th pair of boots, 2nd pair of steadfast to be exact, from Glacors yielding me nice 45 million profit. That put me at best up to 140 million cash pile, which I put into gear rather fast. Atleast 40m of it. I also borrowed 10m for friend to get overloads. I'm planning on teaching him to slay corporal beast to join me and Rohanlords duo to make it trio. Duo is still rather expensive and ineffective way to kill it. Atleast for us that is.

Now I'm only hoping that he will find the time to use that money and train those levels - so we can get on with it. My friend is a bit of a slacker, so you never know if he gets anything done or not. :)

About levels: I've been training all my skills quite evenly (aside runecrafting). I'm about 100k away per skill from all 83 (aside runecrafting). Runecrafting is almost 81, which will get me to 81+ all.

Most of my time goes with girlfriend, work, friends, xbox, books and movies. Only If I had a bit more time. :)

u5zhkTY.gif

Good luck with your goals, I hope you manage to find more time for rs :)

Been few days since last update, mostly because nothing extraordinary happened. Spent weekend with friends, so didn't have much time to play. Duoed corpo about 20 times with Rohanlord, and managed today to solo it for the first time. That was quite intense! Shame the loot was "only" 20 runite bars. Well, actually it wasn't that bad of a loot. Only I spent more on the brews...

Anyways, reason why I wanted to update this blog is because I finally got 81+ all skills. Got 81 runecrafting from Tears of Guthix activity. Also did some crafting for 83 crafting, so I'm one level closer from 83+ all. (Though I still have to get 82 runecrafting first). Nothing too fancy, just slowly climbing the levels.

Two days ago I got 98 magic, and am currently about 1,1m away from 99. So that will most likely be my next 99 skill. I don't really like the new level up pictures (the ring at the top of the screen), but I took a picture out of it anyway. It's not on this computer however, so I'll add picture later.

After that I trained some thieving, I collected penguins and did the new quest (which was rather boring to be honest). Well, maybe beginners might find it fun.

Next level up probably 86 thieving, if I bother to train that last 40k.

I've also been thinking about doing some sort of DIY challenge. Something like play a month or few starting with nothing on and try to see how far I could get. Without trading/GE/basic DIY rules. Only with my own account and levels - I really can't bother to make another account. After enough DIYing I could sell everything and see what I get. Might be decent fun. Gotta remember that in the future, if I happen to have enough time and dedication.

Ah well, more to come.

Latest news: Got 86 slayer, died at Zamorak GWD. Lost like 4m. First time I died in ages. Ah well, should never underestimate the bosses. Zamorak can actually be quite deadly. Back to Glacors I go.

NOTE: Missing pictures, will add them as soon as I get home (writing this post while on lunch break at work)!

Yesterday I finally really got some time to get into playing. I had an appointment to a dentist who repaired two teeth of mine. I am one of the persons who really get a bad headache from toothache, so I called to work and got a day off. So I took some burana, slept a while and found out that I was feeling alot better.

Few days back we decided to start a little race with Rohanlord to some Glacor killing. I'm not really certain what we're racing against, but atleast we both are logging our kills. Well, as I had been rather close to 99 magic for quite some time - I decided to finally go and get it. It took me about 3 hours of Glacor killing to finally get it.

PS. Using gear with pieces of virtus + armadyl battlestaff + SoA spell and fighting familiar (shame only a lava titan) I managed to get over 10 kills more per hour than I used to! I was used to killing about 40-45 per hour with either using ganodermic/rapier against glacytes. I finally decided to get SoA and my killrate got upto 55 per hour! Very glad about that (though it doesn't allow much of slacking heh).

So after about 500k magic xp for the day, I got 99 magic.

99magic.png

99magic2.png

So for now I don't really have exact plans what to do next. I really would like to have 96 summoning for pack yak and iron titan. Would allow me to kill DKs and Frost Dragons (atleast more efficiently). That would require like 3,5k more Glacor kills for the charms though. Well, I just keep killing them every now and then and hopefully I get there. Well, atleast I got to beat Rohanlord at them boots. ;)

If someone wonders what happened to my maxing goal.. Well, it's sort of frozen now. Effigy nerf really made maxing alot bigger and harder goal (which it already was). I was planning on leveling the skills I the least liked by going over xp on combat, gathering effigies. Now that it doesn't seem a viable option anymore, I'm not really interested in the enormous grind either. I'll keep it somewhere in the background, as it's only reasonable to go for it if I bother playing long enough. After all, my charecther always goes forward, never backwards - so one doesn't really have to stress about keeping your guy in shape. It's like driving bicycle, once you learn, you never forget. ;)

And if you're missing my updates, it's simply because I don't have as much time to play as I used to. I'm working like half of my waking hours, and rest goes with friends/girlfriend/books/movies/xbox and soon I should start studying again too. I'm playing when I have time. Maxing might take me from few years to eternity, though.

So, currently I'm killing Glacors.

13,1m magic experience.

Lately I've been playing PC and conquest (playing? more like losing on purpose), to get myself a new void set (ever since I lost mine, dying at Ape Atoll getting 99 ranged). It's tiring and tedious, but after I get it done, I can focus more on Glacors. I decided to sell my Virtus, and go with void instead. I still got to finish that quest to the elite void armour, though.

So far I've gotten top, skirt, melee helm and deflector. Still need mage hood (and maybe gloves). I might get ranger helmet later too, for now I have no use for one.

I also need to obtain atleast Ardougne cloak 3 (eventually 4). I have some other items I want too, but I'm not in too much hurry (Korasi Sword, Salve amulet (e) and so on).

301/4000 Glacor kills after starting logging them (no boots so far).

u5zhkTY.gif

  • Author

Recently, I haven't had that much time to play again. However, during the time I had, I managed to complete the two leftover void quests to get myself elite void armour and korasis sword. So that's 2 more out of the way!

[pics coming soon]

After that I went to PC to finish my set. I only miss gloves and void ranger helm, but at the moment I don't really have need for them. Might get gloves to swap deflector with CSB for Glacor hunting, but at the moment it works just fine without. Only problem is 3 spaces less in inventory. Makes trips a bit shorter. However, my attention span barely even lasts for hour at time killing Glacors. So shorter trips with more banking doesn't really bother me at the moment.

Currently I'm killing Glacors whenever I have time. Might do some more quests (it wasn't that bad!) to someday finish my quest cape. And also to get all bosses unlocked for Dominion Tower. Was thinking about getting them gloves and dreadnips someday. If I can bother that is.

No level ups lately. Slowly working towards 99 melees, gathering charms for 96 summoning, and money for 99 prayer (or something). Still wondering what to train during BXP's.

After a quiet and boring hour in the work, spent surfin' the forums, I decided some goals for this year in RuneScape. I'm not really sure how much time I can dedicate for playing, but atleast to have something to do when I have.

My main goal for while has been maxed melees, 99 prayer and 96 summoning. This should get me to 138 combat. During this I hope to reach 90 slayer (depends how much of the charm collecting I do at slaying, and how much at Glacors). I decided to start farming again (after all, it was very stupid to stop in the first place). Doing daily tree run should get me to 99 before the year 2013. Also, I shall continue my tradition of using all the xp rewards (that possible) into runecrafting. That should get me to 90 runecrafting, or even further depending how many quests/tasks I complete).

During bonus xp weekends and when I'm bored with combats/pvm/etc, I shall be working on some of the easier (faster) skills (fletching, firemaking, woodcutting, construction, hunter and thieving) to boost my skill total towards 2350.

So my main goal for 2012 is to get 138 combat with 2350 skill total:

[hide]99 Farming. 13

138 Combat.

+ 90 Slayer. 38

90 Construction. 8

99 Firemaking. 10

90 Woodcutting. 3

90 Thieving. 5

99 Fletching. 13

90 Runecrafting. 8

90 Hunter. 7

2350.[/hide]

If I somehow manage to have more time to play (end up playing more than I think), I will continue towards 2400 total level. At best case scenario (atleast for my RS career), I could have 2400 before year 2013 kicks in:

[hide]100 Dungeoneering. 8

92 Crafting 9

87 Agility 5

92 Woodcutting 2

86 Fishing 4

87 Mining 5

99 Thieving 9

92 Construction 2

92 Slayer 2

99 Summoning 3

91 Runecrafting 1

2400.[/hide]

Theres about 290 days left of this year, so 1 level per every 2 days isn't atleast impossible! Though, hard it will be none the less. :)

u5zhkTY.gif

I think those are good goals, and should help keep you motivated to play. Why level 100 dungeoneering, though, instead of stopping at 99? It would be much more quick to get that level in fishing or woodcutting. Is there something you can get at level 100?

I plan to follow your progress over the next 290 days - best of luck.

  • Author

I'm not really sure what you mean by it being faster in fishing or woodcutting? In terms of total level, yes, it would be faster to get few levels in fishing or woodcutting, than going for level 100 dungeoneering, but comparing dungeoneering to woodcutting or fishing - dungeoneering is actually faster to train than neither of those skills. It might be hard to believe for a person at low level, low prestige and used to solo floors, but later on the experience rates grow alot. Especially when doing 5 player large floors.

As for setting 100 as a goal, I simply thought of a nice round number. What could be more round than 100, after all? It would be first level (well, aside combat) to reach three digits, so it would be quite cool aswell. Not to mention 100 dungeoneering also grants you that 99 skill (and cape aswell) in the progress, and at level 100 also grants you 3 binds inside dungeon. Getting a platebody would make dungeoneering more fun, as I end up dying rather often (and thereforth losing chunks of xp). Besides, I still have plenty of useful dungeoneering rewards to buy (rigour, augury, chaotic crossbow, chaotic maul etc.), so the 700k-800k tokens would come useful.

At the moment dungeoneering is a distant goal, and don't really plan to bother much about it. Maybe during summer, or whenever I get more time.

In overall, this year shall be the year of combat skills. I hope to have nice round of 99's in all combat skills (aside slayer, which is too far away for me to consider it at the moment) when the year 2013 kicks in.

XP Weekend breakdown:

In overall, I (once again) didn't have much time to dedicate for RuneScape, so at the end of the weekend (this morning) I had clocked about 5,5 hours time online. Needless to say, this was alot less than on the previous weekends when I got 99 herblore and 99 ranged. However, I managed to gain fair chunk of XP in skills that I've been planning to train lately.

I started out with doing broad arrows for the biggest multipliers. The XP rates were very fast, and I really have to keep broad arrows in mind for next bonus XP weekends. Only next time I should do woodcutting or something in the midst too. However, 90 fletching from 86 took only about an hour. After fletching I had planned to get 90 construction, but eventually ran out of motivation (and time) as the XP rates were alot slower than I had first thought. I guess I just can't click as fast as some people do, but my arm was already aching after one million experience. The multiplier was already down to 1,9x so I thought I might aswell do something else and save planks for when I feel like playing some stealing creation and use sacred clay hammers.

After that I went down to Jadinko lair to burn some roots, but thought it wasn't worth my time without inferno adze. So I bought some magic logs and decided to burn them. However, as it was already late in the sunday evening at that point, I decided to leave it at 90 firemaking and go use all my blue charms.

I ended the night with getting 88 summoning (unicorn!) by using all my 2,000 blue charms. I still have 2,500 crimson charms and some green and gold charms which should get me to 90 summoning. After that it's only 6 more (or 5 if I dump my effigies) for pack yak. Which has been my main goal for quite some time.

Oh, and I almost forgot: I also collected my fruit trees for about 75k farming experience. I know, it was nothing like my previous farming runs at BXPW's but it was still something. I forgot to plant the trees in advance and decided not to bother with it too much. After all, I still have so many skills to level that farming isn't my main priority.

In overall, it was good fun (except construction, blah!) yet I wish I had atleast few more hours to play. Oh well, maybe at the next BXP weekend. :)

2,262 Total level.

WHERE'S THE UPDATE?

rohanlord.png

  • Author

Haven't had much time to play, and on my free time been too lazy or tired to go playing. I don't know what to do when I get online. I haven't even done farm runs in couple days. I've been checking occasionally to see if you were online for a chat.

Latest update is I spent rest of the charms I had for 90 summoning. Now I'm occasionally doing slayer tasks (this current iron dragon task has taken me almost a week already #-o) for charm collecting. Whenever I get more free time and am not as tired as I've been lately, I get back on playing more. :)

Had awful alot of things going on in real life, that limited my free time to minimum.

Hopefully catch you around soon.

Newsflash to all of those who used to keep an eye out for my latest bloggins; I'm back.

Two months ago I decided to take a break from playing, dissapointed by the add of microtransactions to the game. Due to lack of motivation and free time, that update pushed me over the edge and made me cancel my membership.

Even though I still despise the SoF and everything related to it, I must admit this game is very good at hooking players back to playing. Some good updates in my opinion (bonfires and runespan) and some new coming content that sounds amazing (combat evolution). So after a while of thinking I decided to subscribe again, and here I am.

So, without more to say: My blog is back online. :)

Currently training runecrafting at runespan for unknown amount of time.

u5zhkTY.gif

  • Author

After my return to the game with a burst of new motivation, I went and spent (almost whole evening) some time at the Runespan. During this I got level 84 runecrafting and got closer to 85. I must say this is far more player (me) friendly way of training than old running back and forth to altars. I feel a bit bad for all the people who trained their runecrafting the old way, because this is far easier. Here is my level up.

84runecrafting.png

Needless to say, I didn't ever imagine being able to gain this much runecrafting XP in a day (not including lamps, xp books, effigies or stuff). :D

After the day I ended up with about 7,000 runespan points and this xp:

99 RC by the end of June?

rohanlord.png

  • Author

I do? Yay!

99 runecrafting in a month? No way, José. I'm somewhat trying to keep 1 million experience per week for the moment, so I could get quite close actually. But I'm runecrafting now because I have to read to exams and thats only somewhat possible way for me to play at the same time. Besides, I'm too lazy to walk out of runespan.

That being said, got 85 and 86 runecrafting today. 2 RC levels in a day. Would you believe that? :P

And when I get more time to play, I'll be sure to do something else than just RC. 99 RC someday? Why not. :)

ps. almost 900k in the counter. I'll put up a picture after week at sunday. ;)

u5zhkTY.gif

  • Author

Decided to give runecrafting a little rest for now, and go mess around in the new Queen Black Dragons cave. I was too afraid to battle the queen though, so I just killed few worms (which was pain in the ¤#!s with so many people there), and then decided to go do something else.

I will kill the queen someday, when someone first writes even some sort of miniguide about what kind of tactics work against her.

So I went to do few tasks of slayer (first time in a long while!), and cracked about 600-700k total experience for the day. I really should be studying...

Almost got 96 strenght. Will get that in my next gaming session. :)
