January 17, 200620 yr i'm quiting RS but don't want to quit RPG's so i was thinking of buying either Everquest 2 or WoW so which one is best and which one costs the least?
January 17, 200620 yr They both cost the same. I'd recomend EQ2, WoW is very overrated... it's a horrible game. Not sure how far you will get in Eq2 though.
January 17, 200620 yr You decided to ask a Runescape forum this question? Whichever has the most 12 year olds in it will be your answer. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
January 17, 200620 yr everquest 2......much like its predecessor, requires more time and patience than most WOW players could muster. So obviously they are vastly different games, and the age groups that they appeal to reflect that. WOW- younger EQ- older pretty simple. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....
January 17, 200620 yr I bought Guild Wars for my son and he's had a lot of fun with it so far. What I like is that there no monthly fee and the graphics make Runescape look primitive. When I get bored of Runescape, I think that's where I'm headed.
January 17, 200620 yr and the graphics make Runescape look primitive. That's hardly the equivalent of having to climb everest though. Runescape looks primitive compared to games of 10 years ago (compare Quake released 1996). Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.
January 17, 200620 yr Guild Wars isn't bad, you need to be the right kind of gamer for it though. Expect to get a lot of idiots on your team in PvP unless you get a clan. (#1 reason why I left. Even though it was great pvp'ing with my clan, that I created [were #200 on the leaderboard at one time, but couldn't pvp often. We could have gotten to the top 100 if we were active] but without them the game sucked, massivily.) It seemed like I was the only inteligent person out of 1000 stupid people. You know, 1million players, 1 out of every 1000 knows what to actualy do. Game brought in a lot of younger players because of no monthly fee. But none the less I logged 500 hours into the game the first... 2 or 3 months it came out, than quit forever. Might check out Guild wars : Factions this spring, but I doubt it could bring me back. anyways, WoW is way too childish and cartoony for me. I'm sorry, but I couldn't bring my self to playing something with that style... it worked alright with their RTS's, but please, not an MMO. And with the comunity I wouldn't bother. I'm sure EQ2 actualy takes time to get good, which is why I'm going with it instead of... *shudder* WoW *shudder* But of course, if I were to give my real opinion, I'd say play lineage 2. why? Well, first off, yes the game is retail. If you want to have a real MMO challange play retail. Takes a good bit to level up, all in all its a much tougher MMO (more like how UO was as far as toughness). But L2 is going to C4 (their latest expansion pack) soon, so retail will be amazing. but, there is a but, what if you don't wanna pay for retail? Well then join a private server. These are free. Now , a couple of drawbacks: - Some servers may crash everyonce and a while. Downtime can be expected, although the good servers will be up 90-95% of the time. - Slightly smaller player base. You get a player base around a few thousand players on a good server. anyways, few good private servers: http://www.l2enraged.com (lower rate server, takes longer to level up) http://www.es-l2.com (a PvP server. High rate so you can level fast)
