You do, but it comes preapplied? Can you confirm that you haven't wiped it off or something? The cx500 is the power supply, not sure what your question is there.

Broken link

edit: If you're talking about a 6 pin plug on your PSU which you need to plug in to a 4 pin socket to the top left/right of your motherboard, it's not that. There should be a 4 pin socket connector, if not there is a 8 one that splits in half.

Im doing the wiring and i have to say its proving to be very hard so many complicated words, i have done about 75% of it.

For example does it matter which pins the usb things go into, or does it matter which does bit on the motherboard the sata data goes into.

Also what are the uses for power supply wires are: optical drive, hard drive, two power bits on the motherboard, graphics card, controlling the fan and are there any others?

The motherboard manual should say where the front connectors are, if that's what you're talking about. I don't know what you are trying to say about sata.

You don't need to plug it in if you don't want to (I'm assuming you mean the front panel connector). The USB connectors are keyed, one pin is missing and on the wire connector there is no hole for a pin to go in, and from that you should figure out which header to plug it in to. Correct, those are the things that you have to plug the power supply in to. It doesn't really matter which SATA header you plug your hard drive in to.
